Mastercraft Collection C-130 Hercules Gunship Scale: 1/84

This is a very nice model of an AC-130. This model is of an AC-130H. The AC-130 is a modification of the C-130 Hercules airframe by Lockheed now known as Lockheed Martin. The AC-130 came into being because the AC-47 Spooky was too slow and didn't have enough ammo capacity. The AC-130 was first used in Vietnam and have been used ever since. The Ac-130's armament has changed a lot over its 50 years of service. The AC-130 has used M61 Vulcan cannons, GAU2/A miniguns, a 40mm Bofors cannon as well as a 105mm M102 howitzer as weapons. The AC-130H had two M61 Vulcan cannons, a 40mm Bofors cannon and a 105mm M102 howitzer prior to 2000. After 2000 the two M61 Vulcan cannons were switched with a single GAU-12/U Equalizer 5 barreled Gatling gun, but the Bofors cannon and the M102 howitzer were kept. Looking at the model however I cannot tell if its weapons are the ones used after 2000 or prior to 2000.

I was excited to order this product, but when it arrived and I looked at it the paint job had a lot of flaws. The front of the aircraft had scartches on it along with the windows paint job was crappy and not consistent. I would not buy from this company it showed to many flaws and bad painting not proud of their work obviously or they would have not sent this out to me. I'm sending this back for a refund.

beautifully made model.I would recommend it to anyone..Flew them in Viet Nam.

Built with mixed acft modifications at different times of development. The numbers on the nose don't match the tail number. I have first hand experience on this acft.
