Best General-Usage Drill Available
This is my third Milwaukee M12 Drill. (Still on my first impact, although it gets much more use). I'd LOVE to give this 5 stars. But, like I said, I am on my third one. The first one stopped working after 3 years, heavy use. I'd have given it 5 stars. The second: purchased off amazon for $40 from a seller "Naturally Nature". After just over a month (about 10 pounds worth of pilot holes for deck screws, among a few other uses), I heard something break/snap internally, and the chuck would not provide enough torque to keep spinning when held with two fingers. Emailed naturally nature, and they sent me a new one, without having to send back the broken one, no questions asked. The other one arrived 3 business days later, and I immediately bored 6 or 7 holes with a 1" paddle bit and put as much torque on it as I could (nothing more than would be realistic for my uses). Should be good to go.BOTTOM LINE: I'm in construction. If it's a drill that you can find at a box store, I've used it. The M12 line is what sits at my house. Not the Dewalt 18v series, not my Bosch lineup (which are both great). "But it's only 12 Volts"....... If you can find a job it won't do, I'd LOVE to hear what you were doing. It's better ergonomically, the batteries are cheaper, charge in 30 minutes (MAX), lightweight, and a wonderful SET to own. Unless you already have a bunch of tools that require a certain battery, get this. But more than likely a drill will be your first cordless power tool, so why not?

Awesome little tool.
I'm a huge Milwaukee fan, all of my cordless tools are Milwaukee, and I'm an electrician, so I'm a bit biased. This tool is nice to have. It's lightweight, durable, and powerful. I once did a whole service and made every penetration into three panels with one of these. Not only did it not burn up, but it didn't need to be recharged as often as some of the 18 volt teal and yellow colored drills on the job site. Milwaukee has really put quality and genius engineering into their power tools. The new brushless versions are probably better, but for $35 this was an absolute steal. I put new guides on a whole 4 drawer dresser then baby proofed half my house without using a whole cell of power. I'm impressed. If you're on a budget like me, take this opportunity. But, if you're in the market and have the cash, go for the fuel line. You will not regret it.

M12 Batteries
I find them to be good batteries. They fit fine 2407-20 series tool. However, they may not fully lock-in if you have older M12 tools with gray shrouds. I think those are 2401 series some call them first generation. If you look in the picture you will notice that battery lockup slot is smaller in older generation tools, this prevents those batteries to fully seat and stay firmly locked. One can carefully file bottom of the locking clip with the small file to allow locking clip to seat into narrower slot.

Love this drill
I loved my first one, killed it but still had batteries and charger so only needed drill body. Happily shocked at $35! Improvements over orig: better ergo, more balanced, better rubber (orig. came off almost immed), comes with clip (don't really use, but there it is), light remains on for a few seconds after trigger release (not particularly useful, but reminds me of interior car lights. Feels like a luxury option). This is probably my most used tool and I abuse the heck out of them. Only thing that killed my last one was I soaked it and tried to use while still wet and burned it..Only con is it seems that more of the chuck area is plastic. Doesn't affect in any way, prob saves weight so I don't care.

Great Drill
Milwaukee produces great products from drills to heavy construction equipment powered but their powerful lithium batteries, which can provide large amount of torque for any job that needed. The body is made up of high strength fiberglass body that makes its strong and lightweight. Its lightweight frame and cordless feature make this tool ideal for any project around the household or even on the worksite.Pro: The body is very light and can fit firmly in my hand. The motor is very powerful and can really torque your nails and bolt down so be careful when working with this drill. Even the cheapest drill bit I purchased before; the drill still shredded through metal frame. Battery indicator will beep to warn you when it needs charging and turn off then you over-torque an item. These features keep your motor intact and preforming at the top specification every time.Con: With anything that uses a lot of torqued, it can pull a lot of power from your batteries so make sure you purchase the higher capacity batteries. This model came without battery so you will have to purchase one that can handle your specific needs. When using the drill for long continuous time, you will start to smell burning from the motor after long term use. This will cause some to be alarmed so just allow the tool to rest before continuing your project. This is common with electric motors. Other than that, not many cons so far. You must spend more money for the actual attachment that will work the drill. Titanium was the choice I made, and you must get the versatile tip that can just lock your bit inside. In conclusion, Milwaukee builds great products backed by an incredible warranty just like Snap On Tools. I purchased other products from this company and will highly recommend it to anyone with a big job and do not want to be tied down with wires. I have tired DeWalt, Craftsman, and other products but soon after a year, I had to replace them for some internal malfunction. With this drill, I can work on my car with the craziest DIY projects. I have one coming up where I will have to drill in the frame and install a heat exchanger. I know based on other projects that this drill will get the job completed with no flaws. The battery will last about 7 hours with Medium to heavy constant use, but that with me purchasing the M12 4.0 Ah Battery which was about $50. (This was tested when installing a new supercharger pulley on an Audi A6 C7 3.0T) I would highly recommend this product for DIY and home improvement projects. Construction workers might want a more powerful drill then this one.

Shame about the chuck
Great drill would have been 5 stars but the quality of the Chuck in my opinion was not a quality item.

Thumbs up.
I would like to write a positive review but everyone else on the job uses this to the point where I have given up asking for my drill back. I should have ordered two. I remember how exciting it was going from the 9.6 volt cordless days to 18 volt, now we have all this 30 volt 36 volt 60 volt; and with the larger amp batteries I am more than happy with my Milwaukee 12 volt tools.

reliable and great price
Great little drill! I like it because it is small and is slower than an impact drill. I already have a similar drill and it is perfect for making furniture or small projects; I have used it for bigger projects also and it does the job. I wanted 2, one for drilling and 1 for putting screws in, without having to change the bit back and forth.
