Received 10-31-2020. First, I am a home machinist and do not rely on these tools to make a living. Second, this is an unbiased review, that is, I did not receive this micrometer free or for a discount for a favorable review. I will say that the micrometer I received is very good in all respects. The entire length of travel is very smooth - the satin chrome finish is excellent - the scale marks are clear and well defined - the ability of repeat measurements taken with my Brown & Sharpe height gage are right on - the ability to take different measurements along the full travel proved accurate when measured against my grade A gage block set - the thimble lock holds well. This mic compares evenly with weight and feel to my Starrett outside micrometers. The included standard was accurate when checked with a pin gage. The fit and finish is very good. Is it a 240.00 Mitutoyo, no of course not. Again, I do not rely on these tools to make a living, but for sub 70.00 inside micrometers, I am very satisfied. I will be ordering the 1”-2” next and will provide my thoughts on it as well. Review: Recommended - Handy tool. If you want accurate bores and struggle with telescoping gauges like I do, you need this. The markings are a little crude (1 star deducted) but you're not paying big brand prices.
