Yep! Nine years past the expiration date.They're fine. Still sealed airtight, smelled and tasted just like they were manufactured yesterday.These (in my opinion) are effectively immortal.Taste like a slightly sweet, mildly coconut flavored cookie. Nibble them slowly and drink plenty of water with them. You could get more calories for your buck by stockpiling staples such as rice, sugar, or vegetable shortening - but then, you actually need to prepare something edible out of that.In contrast to many other sugary "emergency bars", such as Millennium Energy, the taste of Datrex bars isn't overwhelming, and they aren't insanely sweet. They have a mild, crumbly, biscuit-like consistency and a cookie-like flavor with a hint of coconut. It's actually something you can conceivably enjoy in a non-emergency setting.With a reasonable blend of carbs, fat, and protein, and with some vitamins thrown in, they are also probably quite OK for medium-term survival if it ever comes to that. The only major drawback is the hefty weight. They are dry and crumbly as other reviewers have noted, but the flavor is good and they were well packaged.
