Beautiful book I highly recommend. Loved how it was packaged. Would buy from again.

I've been a fan of Harry Clarke's work since I encountered his Poe illustrations when I was a kid, but had no idea of the breadth and magnificence of his work until I saw this book. The reproductions are absolutely stunning -- this is one of the absolutely best art books I've ever purchased. Hopefully someday the text will be translated into an English edition, but for now I'm happy to settle for this Japanese edition.

It's mostly in Japanese, so some of the meaning is lost, but I really just wanted it for the pictures, which did not disappoint. Also, the cover is beautiful and gilded. Harry Clarke is a great artist, his style is similar to Barbier, Erte, Kay Nielsen, etc., but he seems lesser known, so it's wonderful to have a book of his artwork. :)

This is such a fantastic, beautiful collection of Clarke's work. The text is in Japanese, so I'm only able to read a bit of it, but it's not really necessary to enjoy the book. The cover is beautiful as well. Hugely recommend to any fan of Clarke's work.

This book is generally worth purchasing, but I would first buy the Calla edition of Edgar Allen Poe stories. The paper quality and picture reproductions (especially the drawings) are outstanding. The color illustrations are not quite as sharp, but are at least as good as the ones in this paperback book. Also, the two recent hardback stained glass window books are excellent, but you need to purchase them as a pair, you need both of them. The drawbacks to this paperback book is that the paper quality is not as good as the books I mentioned and it's rather small and difficult to handle.

Really great book!Harry Clarke was s genius

PIE books are always a feast for the eye, and being a Harry Clarke fan I was thrilled to see that Hiroshi Unno wrote one about this marvelous artist. The cover (or rather, the slipcase) has a shiny effect which makes the colours dance and pop. As for the book itself - whilst it is not the complete collection of all of Clarke’s illustrations (I missed 1 or 2 Faust illustrations), it has nearly all well-known works and there is so much in it that is rare and never-seen-before! It contains not only the Poe and Faust illustrations and the famous stained-glass artistry for example, but also works made for friends and commercial work commissioned by companies.As for the text - it is bilingual, meaning both in Japanese and English. There is a nice snd informative biography on Clarke, and each chapter starts with an explanation or theme. Though there is more information below each individual illustration in Japanese, the camera function on the google translate app can make short work of that! So please do not let that stop you from buying this gorgeous book!

Very nice printed, beautiful cover, every page is full and elegant, that's what I want from an art book. Most words are in Japanese, please make sure you read intro before buying, while I'm totally OK with it. Shipped and delivered on time.P.S. Wish the Amazon packaging could be nicer next time. I found it rolled up in my mailbox with other stuff on top, luckily there's no damage.
