Frame Adapter, Compatible with Step-Thru, BMX, Non-Standard Frame Designs, Adjustable 18"-30.5" Length fits Most Frames

I have a nice mountain bike but the 29er frame required a frame adapter for our Thule hitch mount bike rack. I was super nervous about relying on the adapter to keep the bike safe-- but it is a very well made product, easy to use and worked perfectly. Only items to be aware of (not having to do with the Thule Adapter): 1) MAKE SURE that your seat post is very tightly attached to the bike frame. If the seat post slips out during travel in your car, the rear of the bike will fall off the rack. 2) If you have a larger bike or larger wheels (29er)-- AND you have a lower car (like a minivan)-- your bike's front tire may hang too low to the ground. No problem if you're planning on driving on perfectly flat roads. But a speed bump, dip entrance in/out of a gas station, etc. could cause your bike to scrape the road. You can solve this by either adding something under the Thule Adapter-- or just removing the front tire.

Like most of the reviews a multi hole function would be a nice option 👍 😀. But I have a drill and a screw gun and will make this happen. This bike is 50 lbs with battery. Held strong, but must admit I used extra straps on the bike rack. Easy to use and would recommend 👌.

Bought this along with the Thule 9043 Helium Aero Bike Hitch Carrier. It was a breeze to use & worked just great. I was a bit apprehensive after reading a couple of reviews saying it was tricky to use. I'm not sure what those people were talking about. It took about 2 seconds to put on my bike. I have never used one before & liked that my bike was not on the carrier at an angle.

My wife has a Schwinn Ranger with a small frame (24" wheels), and it barely fits between the seat post and handlebars with it collapsed. If I needed it for a smaller bike, like a child's 20" BMX style, I don't think it would fit. Otherwise, it's great and feels like it is good quality, as I would expect from Thule.

This thing is BIG. my bike is a 20" Trek Alant, so long that it won't fit on the bike carriers of out local busses. Yet this frame adapter is almost too long. It does not lock at any but the longest position, which would be way too long. This turned out not to be a problem when used with Thule 9001 Raceway 2, as the bar has enough places its attached to. But the locking o on each side attach to the outside of the shaft, and to get the saddle close enough to the anti sway cage, the locking mechanism has to sit crookedly on the rear support. On the plus side, the handlebar sits on the sides of the front o, keeping the handlebar from turning. On the minus side, that drops the front wheel so far down that I have to take it off. Well, whatever works in this make centric world. Goes on easy, works, but not ideal for Thule 9001 Raceway.

I have a women's hybrid bike and we often had to turn it upside down and put it at weird angles to get it onto the bike rack straight. This frame adapter is the best thing I have ever bought for my bike! It is super easy to slip on/off, but is sturdy and I have NO worries about my bike falling off. We also use it for my boyfriend's daughters bike (childrens bike) when needed,because you can easily adjust the length to make it shorter for a smaller frame. One of the holders goes under the handle bars, and the other under the seat. It takes about 15 seconds to put onto the bike! If you have a slanted frame bike, I highly recommend getting one of these.

I used this along with a Thule Passage 3 to carry a Full suspension Mountain Bike 1500km through Canada to the Rocky Mountains. The bar worked as advertised to carry the bike, but I personally highly recommend you choose a cradle style bike rack over a frame hanging one. High probability of damaging your frames if carrying more than one bike, and damaging your vehicles finish and paint.
