Must have
A must have in your tool box. For years I used regular drill wondering why I would never drill concrete or even any masonry walls. This did the trick and us a great value

Works fine for a budget hammer drill
There are many people who just need to drill a few holes in masonry - this drill is suitable. It drilled 1/2" holes 2" deep in concrete block in 30sec/hole using a new carbide Dewalt bit. (a non-hammer drill might take 30 min) No over heating, no problem with chuck grip. Would have taken half an hour with a non-hammer drill. Because I saw several reviews complaining about the chuck, I lubed it with teflon spray before starting. Cheap design requires one to use the torque of the drill motor to tighten the chuck - however, it worked fine, and it's price was indeed cheap. This drill did the job I needed perfectly for the price I needed. It's not a pro tool - they cost at least 3x as much.

Tool Aquisition
Worked as expected.

Very good for the price
I was concerned if this was powerful enough to get the job done, but it easily drilled holes in concrete to place anchors (note you also need the correct drill bits). Recommended.

Awesome!
I needed to drill some holes in concrete block, and this thing's apparently the perfect tool for the job. It put a good masonry bit through the stuff like it was butter, quickly and easily. The "hammer" on/off switch is very convenient, and (with benefit of hindsight) there's absolutely no need to have a separate non-hammer drill. So save money and just buy one of these.

No Savings Here!
Total garbage! Black & Decker ARE NOT what they use to be!Had 11 1/2" holes, about 5" deep, to drill. First 3 worked pretty good, but by the time I made it through 4 hole things started. the keyless chuck didn't want to hold the drill bit, then the screw that holds the chuck onto the drill shaft, fell out. As I put the chuck screw back into place, I notice that the drill shaft has a bit of wear slop already. Now on to the 5th hole, the drill is now starting to smell a bit hot and getting an occasional spark coming out. I let it cool off for a while, then took a while to get there but finished the 5th hole, looks quite ugly but will work. Now hole 6, drill has now completely destroyed itself and I now have to buy another drill to complete my project. NO, it will not be another of this type of quality, even if I don't have many uses for a high quality item!

The chuck constantly loosens, going to return it
I decided to jump on the 30 day return window. I don't return much but this was horrendous. I managed to drill two 1/4 inch holes about 1.5 inches deep and two 3/8 holes about 6 inches deep and then the drill pretty much quit on me. The burnt plastic smell in the other reviews is also what I smelled. I few sparks but nothing that dramatic.Overall, it's a solid drll. If you're sticking 1/4 inch holes that are only a couple of inches, you're fine. I'm drill for rebar, in which case this drill wasn't enough. Glad it broke during the 30 day post-purchase otherwise I'd be stuck with this broken drill.
