The real thing
So this is what paprika is supposed to taste like! I've only had the bland American stuff before, and I have other pepper powders for heat. This is just super flavorful. Now I see why paprika has such a great reputation - a good stretch for the adventurous palate.

Flavor is great
bought this on accident but love it. Different from what we normally tend to use, smokier flavor

Great Stuff; Should Become a Spice Rack Staple
I was introduced to Spanish smoked paprika (pimenton de la vera) after my folks gave me a couple of tins as a gift. Now, I can't cook without them. This paprika comprises one 2.6-ounce tin of bittersweet (agridulce) paprika. 2.6 ounces is plenty, by the way -- this will last you a long time. Note that there are two more varieties of smoked Spanish paprika -- sweet (dulce), and hot (picante) -- which are available for sale on Amazon.com and elsewhere, which I also recommend buying. It is nice to have the full range of paprikas, from sweet to bittersweet to hot. The agridulce paprika represents a nice midpoint between the sweet and hot varieties. So, what do I use this particular spice for? I find it to be incredbily useful. I use a dash of smoked paprika to give a nice smoky depth to my guacamole -- add plenty of salt and fresh lime juice to your guac, with a touch of cilantro (optional), and, you'll have the best guacamole that you ever made; the paprika is also fantastic in Bloody Mary's -- combined with freshly shaved horseradish root, it will lift this cocktail to the next level. The paprika can also be added to the water or stock that you cook a side dish of rice or grains in, to add some extra flavor and color. Lastly, I use this paprika in my vegetarian chilis and in my lentil stews, also for the smoky, unique depth of flavor that it provides. This spice really should become a beloved pantry staple after you've used it a few times.

High Quality for the Price
Far superior to the generic paprikas in the supermarket. Very fresh and aromatic. I also recommend the sweet (dulce), hot (picante) and smoked (ahumado) varieties. This is Spanish paprika -- I do think it has a more earthy flavor than Hungarian paprika, which tends to be stronger and sweeter. In my opininon, Spanish paprika blends better with other spices (coriander, cumin, saffron, etc.) than the Hungarian virieties I've tried.

The ONLY Paprika worth using!
Ever since I found this particular paprika in the store, I was hooked! "Regular" grocery store popular brands do not hold a candle to the smokey flavor of this Spanish paprika! I have even gotten the "ahumado" or smoked paprika which is really wonderful and intense. Now that I can't find it anymore in my own neighborhood, I get it from Amazon and the price is reasonable. Don't hesitate to try this brand!

Nice balance of heat and smoke
I previously ordered a three pack with this, hot and smoked. All three are excellent but this is the one we use the most and ran out of. Really nice balance of a little heat and a little smoke.

The package smelled good at least.
Opened the package to find the container open and emptied and the contents were just loos in the packaging.
