Sesame Street - Cookie Monster Mp3 "Player"

We got this toy as a gift from friends who moved and left this behind. My daughter loved this from the start and would wave it up and down while dancing to the songs. It was adorable. Then, a couple of days later, she dropped it (she is only 1.5 years old so you would expect that to happen every now and then). Afterwards, the toy did not work properly any more - the music was barely audible any more. She would still try to play the songs and hold the toy to her ear to hear them, it was kind of sad. I replaced the batteries but that had nothing to do with it. I figured this had happened because the toy was already old and used (I would usually expect a toddler toy to hold up to being dropped ONCE) and decided to get her a new one on Amazon.Well, this new one is even worse than the old one. It only occasionally plays any songs at all and if it does, it stops in the middle. Most of the time, it skips the songs all together and just goes from one "phrase" to the other. So it will constantly say things like "And now, for your listening pleasure"..."That was a good one"... "Boy, I like that song"... Without any songs in between. Even worse, it starts talking without us touching it. I have had to remove the toy from my daughter's room because it would randomly start talking in the closed in the middle of the night and wake her up (needless to say that hearing a voice at night is really creepy).So, I am giving this two stars because the songs are cute, and it is a good size for toddler hands and easy to use for small kids. It would be a great toy, if only it worked!

This was one of those surprise awesome toys, we got it on gold box for pretty cheap when my son was probably 6 months old. He started playing with it at about a year, it served its term as "toy he wouldn't put down", but now he's two and a half and he still likes it and finally can turn the wheel by himself (he was 2 before he could) and he sings along to it. It's only got 3 songs. I kinda wish it had more songs, but it's good quality, batteries last pretty long, and it's been down the stairs a few times without breaking.

Pros:-Cute songs-Recognizable characters-Easy to operate-The boy likes itCons-A little fat for small hands-Only has three songs-My son dropped it coming down the stairs (the toy fell down about four stairs) and now the sound gets a bit garbled - so not very durable.At $10 or below, it is a good, simple toy that a baby-toddler will enjoy.

I purchased this "Mp3 player" for my nephew who is 1 1/2. He LOVES it (a little too much) and will not stop playing the songs over and over. At his age, he has a little trouble turning the dial to switch between the three songs (so we inevitably learned the words to each very quickly after they played on constant repeat!) but I'm sure it will get easier once he gets a little older.The songs are really cute - one is by Big Bird and is about his nest being his special place, one is by Ernie and is about bath time, and one is by Elmo about music.

I bought this for my nephew (16 months old). He loves it so much, and once the songs start, he always smile and dance. Even when he is crying, once he hears the song, he stops crying and starts dancing! As someone mentioned, the three songs are great, and we never get tired of them, though we hear them over and over. This product is excellent for that price. It is durable; no matter how many times my nephew drops it, it works fine!Only one complaint is that the product has some stain on the eyes. Other than that, it is cheap, fun, it brings about lots of laughter!

My son loves this toy. He dances every time he hears the tunes start. He likes having his own MP3 player. The dials are hard for my 10 month old to turn, but a two year old had no trouble. The button is easy to press so he can play the songs over and over on his own.

Not what I thought it was. I was expecting tobe able add music to this. The instructions did not lead me to believe I could not add music. My 2 year old grandson liked it for a minute. It only has 4 songs and he already knew them. A durable toy but in the toy box. I would change the age limit to 3 months to 1 yr.
