Use a 3/32" drill bit and install it properly!
I just replaced the handle on my 3 cup Italian Bialleti stovetop espresso maker that I've had for years. For us unfortunate to have to utilize Imperial Units, what worked for me was a 3/32" drill bit. I inserted the handle (without the top cover on) and drilled through the plastic handle while holding it in place on the cup and being very careful with the angle of the bit in order for it to exit the metal hole on the opposite side. After that I placed the top cover on and carefully "dry fitted" the new metal pin on both sides and with both ends and noted the position I felt entered the most or "sank" into the plastic (in my case, with the handle at 6 o'clock, I entered from the Right side) . Next, I used a large set of "tongue and groove" (aka Channellock pliers), kept one jaw against the left side of the cover and cup metal and slowly closed the pliers as the pin sank into place. Lastly, I used a punch to even out the protrusion of the pin on both sides. I can't speak of durability, but it looks as good as new again. I assume the handles don't come with holes because the thickness of the pin must've varied over time.

A perfect fit.
I dropped my Moka pot and broke the handle. This was an exact replacement, and it was easy to install. I used a small hammer and slowly tapped out the old pin. Be sure to put the lid back in the handle before re-installing! Duh.

Did not bring the pin
The size is perfect. The box came completely destroyed (bad image for Bialetti).Did not bring the pin, Of course I saved the older one.

arrivederci
After years of use I have only needed to buy gaskets for my Bialetti then my creamic handle finally broke off. So I buy original Bialetti handle and was surprized to get this plastic handle. When did Bialetti change to a plastic handle? I see reviews now complaining about no hole. It was a little sursprising but was not a problem for me. I do think they should have at least put a dimple in the mold to show where to drill hole. I mount the handle in snug, too snug, now lid only opens half way.Anyway, within a few weeks of use the lid opens farther and farther, which is good other than the fact that the plastic was melting! I do use gas. I have a small burner which has been perfect over the years, and I have been careful in placing the pot off center of burner with handle away from flame, maybe not always the case but hey, this is a moka pot, suppose to be over heat, and this is a kitchen sometimes with a lot going on, too much to worry about making coffee. Why should I worry about making coffee?Anyway, only a few months use and you can see plastic does not make a good handle. The handle is melting away. I almost bought a new pot, however, now I must know if the new Bialetti pots have a ceramic or plastic handle. If Bialetti now uses plastic handles I will be changing brands in the future, by the looks of things, near future, and this pot will end up downrange for target practise.

Surprised by having to drill
Product is good but I hadn't read that I needed a drill to replace the handle and was surprised by it. It took me a few weeks to do this job. I think the system could be user friendlier without having to drill.

Perfect replacement!
It perfectly replaces the handle of the 1-Cup Bialetti Mocha. Can be a bit cumbersome to make the swap, though, so if you are not on the handier side be ready to ask for some help.
