Koh-I-Noor MAGIC Jumbo Triangular Coloured Pencil (Pack of 12 + 1)

These are shorter than the magic pencils that have the hexagonal marbled cases. Those are standard length. Theese are about 12 cm or 4-3/4" long. A standard pencil is 7.5" long. these are about 2/3 normal pencil length.The package is all paperboard and will hold the set together pretty well for a while. The eraser is an abrasive type with grit. Not reccommended for handmade paper because it will pull up the soft surface of the fibers on such papers. But it did erase the colored pencil completely, unlike a plastic eraser without grit or a kneaded eraser- those are not able to completely erase colored pencils. The included shaperner is plastic but made specifically for this set of pencils and works well.The swatches have some curly shapes to show changing colors. The right side of the swatch has been blended with the included blender pencil which works well.I'm new to regular colored pencil art. I've used pencils for coloring and watercolor pencils for mixed media work. I'm hoping to use these for sketching. For the cost I think this is a quality set and think that they grouped the colors well in each pencil to create textured masstones but not alarmingly jarring color variations in a stroke.

I loved the pencils and their unique shape. I have the same in the larger sized pencils but especially loved the smaller size that fits perfectly in my small hands. I love the tricolor leads as they add such variety to my color pages. I use them for adult coloring books when I want to jazz a section up with multiple colors and tones. They blend perfectly but you also have a blender that helps. The eraser that comes with this set is exceptional! It’s my “go-to” as my outside the lines screw ups are easily corrected. The pencil sharpener that comes with this set lacks something to be desired. I ordered a separate one meant specifically for these triangular pencils. It just seems lower quality. I knew I wanted the smaller sized pencil so the money seemed quite fair to me . I consider myself a novice colorist and love love these pencils as part of my huge collection!!

I bought these because I have a set of 5 regular size magic pencils that I love. I thought I could get this smaller set for more variety but I'm really disappointed in these. They are a lot more waxy than my other ones. And with some of the pencils there's no variation in color, no matter how many times or ways you turn the pencil. For instance the light blue, pink and yellow are just one color. The only way to sharpen them is with the sharpner that's provided but even with that it was hard to do and impossible to get a point on them. I use a cheap Walmart kids sharpener with my other ones and it works great. It may not seem like a big deal to most people, but if you have arthritis, it causes pain. So buyer beware on this set.

Easily my favorite doodle pencil. I actually don’t sharpener it often just need to sand it if I need a fine point. Doodling with it is so much fun. Colors blend well. It doesn’t layer a lot (I got 3 layers maximum) at least on the (cheap) paper I doodled on.But the point is that they are fun to use. And the result makes me happy.

Die Farben lassen sich nur schwierig kontrollieren, was zu ähnlichem Resultat führt, wie bei Wasserfarben. Super bei freiem Skizzieren, wo die Farbgenauigkeit keine Rolle spielt, und die zufällige Farbstruktur freut.

Ces crayons sont plus courts que les crayons classiques (mais je les ai achetés pour des plus petites mains et également pour le taille crayon adapté inclus). Adultes et enfants peuvent s'amuser avec les crayons "magic" de Koh I Noor. Ces crayons peuvent être utilisés pour des oeuvres plus élaborées également.

Great quality. I did purchased them for some of my woodworking projects and I did not intend to use them for drawing purpose, but I still can confirm that these pencils have great quality, convenient shape for best griping and holding experience. I do not know how multicolored pencils will look on a paper, but for my purpose it looks wonderful! They are very expensive to my mind, but I know the quality of KOH-I-NOOR for more then 30 years and ready to pay for that.
