Does the ice melt in this machine?

Yes it will if left out long enough

Our blade is getting worn. i can’t seem to find a replacement on amazon. how can i get another blade? how do i adjust blade for finer snow?

try taking it to a knife sharpener or a lawn mower repair shop to sharpen blade

What is the best size ice to use? do you freeze small cartons of ice, use bag ice from the store or the half moon cubes from the refrigerator?

We like to use the store bought ice bags since we usually use it for larger gatherings. We have used freezer made ice cubes as well.

Which machine do you recommend for frequent home use, ( no commercial use ) the Arctic Blast or the Blizzard?

We have the Arctic Blast and couldn't be more happy with it. We use it strictly for home use (frequent). In looking at the differences between the 2, the Blizzard seems to have more in terms of aesthetics (light up sign) but that about it. As far as I can tell the motor is the same. I wouldn't pay the extra $$ for the Blizzard if it's only for home use.
