Review: New Holy Grail "Foundation"! - Let me start by describing my very long journey to finding the perfect foundation. As a teenager, I had awful hormonal acne pretty much all over my face, but concentrated on my chin/cheeks. My makeup routine took me FOREVER to do as I did A LOT of color correcting on all of my acne on top of a very high coverage foundation. I had always bounced around from foundation to foundation and never found something I liked, despite trying MANY high end foundations. Even if they had the right coverage, there was always something that bothered me about it: the finish, the color wasn't exactly right, didn't last long, etc. After several years, I am so thankful that my acne finally cleared up and my face is acne free, with the exception of the occasional pimple on my chin area. My struggle now is my post-inflammatory scarring and uneven skin tone which pretty much disappear with any foundation I put on. Problem is, the "holy grail" foundations that everyone is talking about nowadays are usually very heavy/super high coverage that give me an overdone/caked on look that I'm not a fan of. I was looking for a foundation that covered my hyperpigmentation/uneven skin tone, while still looking natural. I had gotten interested in a lot of the asian beauty/skincare products that I read about on Reddit and read about cushion foundations. I found the L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation that I loved (good finish - dewy/glowy, perfect coverage - not too heavy but still looked natural), but was disappointed with the price and how it ran out SO fast ($15 and lasted about 2 months compared to other foundations I had bought that lasted 3-4 months for the same price). I decided that the product I was probably looking for was a BB cream because they are known for being light-weight while still providing some coverage. I decided to do a simple "bb cream" search in desertcart, and the first product to pop up was the Maybelline BB cream, and a little further down, this MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream. After reading about how the Asian brands are typically WAY better quality than the American-produced counterparts (since that's where they originated from), I decided to do some research on this one. This product has many glowing reviews about what a miracle makeup product it is, with the occasional 1-star review of people who received a fake one. I then talked to my sister about it, as she has invested a lot of time and money into a lot of Asian beauty and skincare products and she told me she has actually been using this BB cream as her foundation for 3 years! I was immediately impressed as she has even worse scarring, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone than I do. Yet, when she has makeup on, it completely disappears. I figured she had invested tons of money into some super high-end foundation that I wasn't willing to spend money on/wouldn't be what I wanted. I decided I didn't need much more convincing and ordered the product right away. Well, I can now say I am so happy to have found my holy grail "foundation"!! ("Foundation" being in quotes as that's not really what it is.) This product has absolutely EVERYTHING I was looking for. I am Caucasian with pretty light skin (I am typically the 2nd lightest shade in most foundations), so I ordered #21 based off my sister's color which was the lightest (#13) and she is pretty much paper white/ghost pale. Most people have been put off by the very gray/ash color this BB cream has (which eventually oxidizes into a more natural looking color.) I had read about it already and was prepared for it. I applied it with my Real Techniques blending sponge, first by applying a dot on my cheeks, forehead, and chin, and then blending out. I was IMMEDIATELY impressed by how natural this BB cream looked on my skin and how my hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone completely disappeared. It pretty much melted into my skin. I leaned in as close as I could get to the mirror and still could not even tell I had anything on my face. This BB cream is VERY lightweight (it felt like I was wearing nothing!!) yet lasts so long! (I slept in it the first night -- ew, gross, bad, I KNOW! -- and it was still on my face the next morning!) But like I said, I would have to say my favorite thing about this foundation is the "miracle" coverage. I say miracle because it covered up my hyperpigmentation and evened out my skin tone, yet still looked completely natural (you could still see my freckles and looked like I had nothing covering them). The finish on this foundation is definitely not matte, but definitely not super "dewy" to where you look oily. My L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation definitely was skirting the line between "dewy" and "oily", but this is absolutely perfect. And super BONUS: This BB Cream is SPF 42! I know I should be wearing sunscreen everyday (after all, the best way to treat hyperpigmentation is by not letting it get worse) but I have not found a sunscreen that isn't greasy or wears well under makeup. So I unfortunately skip sunscreen most days. While the amount of this BB cream I put on my face probably does not have enough SPF to perfectly protect me in the awful Texas heat I live in, I can be a little relieved that I have SOME protection! If you have made it to the end of this ridiculously long review, I hope I have convinced you to at least give it a shot. I bought it for $10 from the seller Beauty Best LLC, and I definitely received a real one. This BB Cream sells for $22 on the MISSHA website, so you really have nothing to lose by trying it! $10 is an absolute steal for this amazing BB cream. I cannot say enough great things about it!
Review: My new staple - Ive tried every foundation over the last 20 years and this is the best one I have ever used The feel of it is really moisturizing and lightweight but it provides genuine coverage while looking really good I love that it's moisturizing and there is sunscreen in it, I applied a small amount to my fingers, tapped a small amount on the main areas of my face and it took me all of 5 minutes to apply This is blendable and buildable and wonderful 12/10 and its affordable

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is the price gap between the Missha US website and Amazon sellers so big? $6 as oppose to $30.**
A: The price on Amazon just fluctuates a LOT. Right now on July 5, 2018, the price on the Missha website is $15.40 (it is on sale 30% off of the normal $22.00 price) and every shade is the same price. The Amazon price for the shade #21 is $10.50 on this listing, but shade #13 is $40 (there are other listings, also with Prime shipping for shade #13 that are as low as $15, though). I did not price check and compare every shade on this listing and other Prime listings on Amazon, I just happened to be deciding between #13 and #21 so noticed the price variation. Like I said, Amazon prices fluctuate so it could be a vastly different price tomorrow. I work for a large technology company and manage our company’s relationship with Amazon. We list products and warehouse them at Amazon for Amazon fulfillment. The price we sell it to Amazon for stays consistent but the customer sell prices fluctuate based on supply and demand (via Amazon’s algorithm). Since we are the only supplier to Amazon of our products, the prices fluctuate a lot less. We still get emails that say “The price of your listing is too high to be competitive with similar products. Reconsider the price of your product.” I’m not sure what the “comparable products” they are looking at are all of the time (we are priced competitively) but I can imagine with many sellers (companies based in Asia that purchase these directly from the manufacturer in bulk at a low, wholesale price, and then import them into the US, stage them locally and fulfill orders from Amazon) for the same exact product and listing, that the price Amazon buys it for varies by seller and this impacts the sell price to the customer even more. Here is a hypothetical - if company X sells 10 of this B.B. cream in shade #21 to Amazon for, say, $7, then Amazon’s algorithm lists it at $10. When Amazon is down to just 2 in the warehouse, they look at who in their system has it in stock and ready to fulfill. The lowest priced restock available is $9 from company Y. Amazon is also seeing a lot more page views for this product and searches so they reorder 12 bottles from company Y and increase the price of the remaining 2 in stock to $14.50 The new bottles arrive so now there are 14 in stock so Amazon lowers the price to $12 a bottle. This is a hypothetical but basically explains why pricing can be all over the place within Amazon, not match the manufactures own site, and NOT be a counterfeit good, still be an authentic product!

**Q: Your BB tube has a gold cap or silver cap?**
A: My BB tube had a gold cap. I don't know if that makes it more or less authentic though. I bought mine last year. They also may have changed packaging.

**Q: When does the SPF protection expire? The last time I bought this it expired 2 months later. Thanks!**
A: Unfortunately, I have no idea. I checked the back but most of it is in Korean, I think. Although I couldn't find a expiration date, I have been using it at least 3 months now and there hasn't been any change in the substance; still wear it daily. Hope this helps!

**Q: is this product made in Korea ?**
A: Yes, Made in Korea

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid BB Cream
*by S***R on January 26, 2016*

Coverage - the coverage is medium-Light. I'm a very, very pale caucasion, usually the lightest foundation shade, and I have very minor hyperpigmentation. This foundation did not cover over that, but seemed to cover over my light acne fairly well. I don't think that if you have heavy pigmentation problems or acne that this is the thing for you. It does a good job of evening out my complexion though, so for me it's perfect. It's incredibly smooth and looks like real skin. Feeling - It feels weightless on the skin when you first glide it on, but after a while (even with powder and setting spray) it leaves a weird, waxy feeling to the skin if touched. This isn't a problem in any way, just an observation. I noticed that my skin looks and feels more moisturized than with my foundation (Loreal True Match Lumi) even though that's a very dewy, soft foundation. The feeling gets five stars. Color - again, I'm very white, so I'm not sure this would work for most people. I'm a yellow-toned pale person. For reference, I'm W2 in True Match foundations. Don't be shocked when it comes out a slate gray color. Not too attractive, right? And it goes on your face slate gray, too, which makes you look really, really sick! But I pat it in with my fake 2 dollar beauty blender and by the time it's patted in, it's my exact face color. I don't know how it works and I don't care. It really doesn't leave any gray color at all! 5 stars from me Size and packaging - perfect. Somehow manages to be bigger than my foundation but it looks and stores smaller. I don't know how. The packaging is great because the pump is easy to control and dispenses a perfect amount for my whole face and neck. You don't have to use much. Ingredients - Here's where my main problem comes in but only enough to take one star off because there are some good ingredients, too. So first let's go over the good stuff. I'm a skincare freak, but if you don't believe me, look them up on your own! I got the ingredients from MISSHA's website. Hyaluronic Acid - this stuff is great for retaining moisture, slowing aging, and attempts to reverse sun damage. Great stuff! Gatuline RC - supposedly smooths and strengthens skin as well as helping to retain moisture Ceramide - moisturizes and has fatty acids which are great for your skin. Missha's website says that it helps with moisture retention, and I believe that since it's a waxy compound. Extracts and Oils - Caviar Extract, Algae Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract. Alright, so this stuff has great vitamins and smooths and heals irritated skin. it's all really good stuff from what I could see. Overall, the ingredients are amazing. Glycerin - draws water to the skin. Good stuff. Bad Ingredients Whitening Ingredients - whitening has been said to correlate to cancer, so be in mind of that. I personally don't need to be any whiter, so I don't like using this a lot, but that's a personal choice. Just keep the whitening claim in mind as it should slow melanin production, which can be harmful. Mineral oil - Some people say this can be irritating and that it's bad for your skin. If you have a problem with mineral oil, note that it's in here. Otherwise, you're fine. I didn't find anything too bad about it in my searches. Sunscreen - as far as I can tell, this is NOT broad spectrum, which doesn't protect you against all sun. They say you shouldn't have to use any sunscreen under this, but you still should because of that and because makeup wears away. It should be a nice extra layer of coverage, though. Parabens - I don't mind parabens, but this product does have them, so if you don't like them or agree with their use, steer away from this product. Overall, I think this is a great product. I won't be re-purchasing because of the whitening ingredients. It gets 5 stars because while it's not perfect for me, it's a high-quality product. There are only few problems, which are minor!
