Love it!
This is the first heat blanket that hasn't crapped out on us. It's super soft, has tons of heat setting options, and is so so cozy. I definitely recommend this one over other brands.

Excellent, so far :-)
Let's face it - electric blankets, no matter what brand or manufacturer, are generally a low reliability item. We all love 'em when they work, but it is very difficult to find one that lasts. I have used sunbeam blankets for many years, and slowly the lifespan of each purchase decreases to the point where if it works after one year, you feel lucky. The last sunbeam king heated blanket lasted only one winter. Fortunately, it was purchased at Costco, which is the best place to make returns. After reviewing Wirecutter and Chicago Tribune Best Reviews, decided to take a gamble on this Beautyrest heated blanket. I can tell from reviews several folks ended up with duds. I lucked out this time, and love this heated blanket. Have been using for 3 months. (Now that I've written this review, you know what will happen) One thing I did differently with this purchase is I got a twin size. Previous have all been kings. Spouse and I need different sleeping temps and only one of us really wanted the heat. So theory is maybe a blanket that is smaller, less wires, tugged and used by only one person will hold out longer? Time will tell.Pros:- Sherpa is fantastic on this blanket. Thick, no shedding. If it "dies" it will still be a good blanket to use normally. That's a plus for the $ spent.- Wires are well woven and hidden/soft to the touch- Does not slide off the bed (like the sunbeam's did. Annoying they would slide to whichever side the nap was directed)- Controller window stays lit. Thank goodness, can actually tell if you have it on or off in the dark. Last sunbeam did not stay lit. (also see con's for more info)- Very fast quick heat option - like 15 minutes - for when you forget to turn it on before bed. Heating very even. Regular heating very good too.- on the twin size, power cord is very nice length. Can't speak for other sizes or dual controls.- Fun color options, thank goodnessCons:- although the controller window stays lit and is easy to read, the off and up/down buttons are not lit, and hard to find in the dark. Some texturing on the buttons to be able to feel arrows, etc would have been nice.- power cord connection has a "lock" feature to ensure it stays plugged in. Basically just a plastic clip. Mine was so tight it would not lock in place until i bent the plastic piece just a bit. It locked in, but the plastic piece is not sturdy - it will probably break off if I unhook and wash the blanket. Next will be duct tape.I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts. Again, if heating stops, it will still be a great sherpa blanket by itself without the power.

Soft and Light
I use an electric blanket 90% of the year. My old one died. This one is very lightweight and soft. I use it on top of my sheet with another regular blanket on top. Originally, it did not feel very warm even on the highest setting. But after getting into bed, it was actually quite warm. I use it on 6-8. I like that I can set how many hours for it to turn off because I forget to turn it off almost every morning. The cord is also plenty long to plug it in at the bottom of my bed and run it under the bed to my nightstand.A few others mentioned it tends to move around a lot on the bed. I am a very restless sleeper, and I have not had that problem. As I mentioned above, I do have it between my sheet and a top blanket, so that could be why.I have only used it for about a week, but so far I really like it. I will update my review if anything changes.

Smart Plug feature does not work.
I have the twin single remote 20 heat setting model. Normal heat mode works great. The smart plug preheating feature does not work. I've meticulously followed the instructions and tried over and over again. It does turn on and display the previous heat setting as described in the instructions, however no heat is produced. I must manually turn it off with the power button on the remote and turn it back on to get it to work. Preheat function is the whole reason I purchase this one. Also, I return my first blanket thinking it was just broken, but the second blanket they shipped me does the exact same thing.

Cuddly
This iten is as described. I wish there was an option to have it stay on for more than 2 hours. If (when) I drift off, I hate waking up from the cold.

Control hard to see at night
Living in Alaska it's important for me to have an electric blanket on our bed. My Sunbeam blankets seem to last only a couple years, so this time I went with the Beauty Rest. There are some really nice things about this blanket, and then there is one really bad feature. The Good: The blanket is extremely soft! And it's not as heavy as our previous electric blanket. My husband doesn't turn his side on at all, so the dual control on our queen size is great. He was getting too hot at night, even with it turned off, but this one is lighter weight and it's better for his comfort. There are 20 heat settings (can you say overkill?). The preheat button turns the blanket to level 6, which QUICKLY warms my bed before getting in. No more crawling between cold sheets! There is also a sleep mode, which allows me to adjust the length of the auto-off feature between 1-10 hours. The plug fits firmly into the bed, and the cord is ample in length, even after being plugged in I have extra cord. The wires seem to cover the entire blanket, even down the sides. The Bad: I can feel the wires running through the blanket. It doesn't bother me, but if this bothers you it is something to keep in mind. As you can see in my third photo, the illumination of the controller is impossible to see at night! What idiot designed this? The buttons are barely raised, so feeling around for the controls to add or take away heat when the lights are off, for me is IMPOSSIBLE. And the buttons make a distinct clicking sound when they are pressed, which I don't really care for. Turning on my light to change the heat settings really isn't an option! This blanket tends to shed, it reminds me of chenille. I found a few red specs on my carpet this morning from the blanket. I would imagine the first time I wash it my dryer lint holder will be full of red fluff. The Verdict: I am going to try to get used to the fact that I cannot see the level of heat I am using at night. Hopefully I can memorize the slightly raised bumps with my hands and learn how to raise or lower the heat in the dark. I love the feel and the weight of the blanket, and I love how evenly it warms me during my sleep. I guess you can't have everything!

Dead, died, gone
Stopped working in February 3 months after it was bought. Cannot get any customer service from the Beautyrest Amazon store or Beautyrest Canada. So much for the five year warranty.

Great Blanket
This blanket is excellent! It works very well. It's soft other than the cords in it but, still soft. It's actually a nice looking blanket. I'm very happy with it.
