I was looking for the most affordable option so I picked this one. Maybe it is because there is limited space to work with around the 40mm lens, but this item gives me trouble every time i put it on or take it off of the camera. All of my other lens hoods take little effort to attach, but this requires a little focus. If you've also got a UV filter attached, there's a good chance you will accidentally pull it off when removing this hood. The product looks nice and feels well made, but mounting and unmounting was not the best. I will continue looking for a better product.

While this hood does its function and is quite cheap, it has some major issues. First, I am unable to fix the lens cap onto the end of the hood. It does not have ridges lining the inner diameter that allow the cap to grip it, therefore, the cap just pops out. Second, you have to screw this lens on and the tightening ring poses the risk of damaging the rotating mechanism on the lens.

fits nicely and does what it needs to do.

i am getting vignetting when my lens is in the 18mm position, this i didn't expect.
