Hydor Koralia Evolution 550 Aquarium Circulation Pump, 550 GPH

I bought this to replace an old power sweep model that came with my used setup but tried to eat my sand sifting star (which I luckily saved from imminent doom). the combo magnet/suction is fantasitc, the ball joint is great, plus the head can be removed from the mount easily for quick cleaning. it moves water very will without the jet effect that other styles give, nicely dispersed flow.My only regret is that I wish I'd bought a 1050 instead of a 550 because I'm upgrading to a larger tank in a couple months.

This is a great little pump for either small tanks or tanks that need low - moderate flow rates (seahorse, pipefish tanks etc.). Strong magnetic suction cup keeps the pump anchored to the wall. Head is adjustable to moderate and angle flow. It's easy to take apart and clean.The grates are small enough that they'll keep most fish out of the pump - avoiding the 'insta chum' affect. However, if you're breeding fish or have small aquatic life in your tank, you might want to add an additional layer of security and zip tie some plastic mesh around the grates - just in case.

Under powered power head not recommended for large tanks - also for some reason the hydros spread the flow out strangely and weaker than other power heads as presented in research videos online ...

I ordered two for a 110g tall freshwater tank to help eliminate dead spots. They do that, but barely. They don't move much water, but they are whisper quiet. I'm happy. Only 4 stars because they're definitely underpowered. I've heard about poor reliability, so I'll update this if they fail too soon.

Works good but definitely thought it would be stronger. Creates a light current to give your tank some character. Would be nice for smaller fish but I have a 55 gallon with African cichlids so I would go with the next step up next time.

I am new to Salt Water Reef tanks and have a 29 gallon BioCube tank. At first I thought this would be too powerful but it does a great job and isnt too strong for the tank. It is a little on the big side for the 29 gallon tank but my corals and fish love it.

This pump can move some water! It moves just the right amount in my 30 gal XH. It is like a river in there and my loaches have never been more playful. I had originally gotten this for my 75 gal but it was blown away by my filters so I put it in the 30.The only downside I have for this product would be sometimes it starts loudly and scares the fish. Also the motor itself is kind of loud with the vibration against the glass. It isn't too bad, not louder than an air pump.

This is not your average circulation pump! With other cp's you get 1 direct area of flow and that's all it does. This Evo actually has multiple props that moves water in a much larger scale and literally circulates the entire aquarium. Its not a blaster but circulates the tank on a much larger scale. It also looks beautiful in the tank and that magnet on the outside looks extremely aesthetically pleasing compared to others. You can also move it without having to put your hand in the tank with the magnet. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone int the hobby with any tank size over 29g to hit those dead spots in the back corners.

Great little powerhead, virtually silent and provides the perfect amount of current on the other side of my 75. It’s a little bulky for my liking but it works really well.

Si la necesitas para 40 galones olvídalo no te servirá, esta bomba es por lo mucho para 20 galones a partir de ahí ya no es funcional, es silenciosa y el imán es fuerte para 9" el tamaño de la bomba es demasiado grande para el propósito.

The product came late , didn’t include an English plug and was so noisy it made me think something was missing. I did rate the magnet fitting, so salvaged that and used it on the next wavemaker I bought. Overall thoughts - rubbish
