Strymon mobius modulation machine, e-guitar effects unit

First of all, don't buy this from the Japanese affiliate associated with this listing. They charge a huge markup. This thing lists for $469[...]. Amazon needs to get their act together with Strymon pedals. With that out of the way, all Strymon devices are *MADE IN THE USA* and in my opinion are among the finest guitar effects pedal devices made by any company. The Mobius essentially combines twelve tone modulation effects into a single relatively easy-to-use device with a huge benefit: the sound quality is stunning. I say 'relatively' because you are going to need to focus on the user manual for an hour or two unless you're a super-experienced studio effects guy (which I'm not) to start getting the most out of this thing. It takes awhile to get the knack of this unit but I'm having a lot of fun with it and this thing is really deep. Pricey, yes, but you won't have to buy separate chorus, flanger and other pedals and you will have incredible flexibility to edit and save new sound modulations to boot. This isn't your typical stomp box though.The Mobius does not support batteries. It gobbles 300mA. which means you must use the included power supply or an aftermarket multiple-9V power system such as Voodoo Labs that supports the higher current. Fit and finish is fantastic, the documentation for it is way above average, and if you buy it look for the cookbook document on Strymon, which shows you how to bring up all of the 200 presets in the device. The user manual also must be downloaded.Handy tip: Preset 08B has a very nice AutoWah tone that made my ditch my wah pedal from my pedalboard. You have been warned.

The presets are much better than those on the Boss MD500, Line 6 HX Stomp, or Wampler Terraform. Further with 10 to 15 minutes spent with the manual you can learn how incredibly easy it is to edit, rename, and save your "new" preset into the 100 available slots. Wonderful studio unit, and with the addition of an inexpensive controller like the MultiSwitch it becomes the ultimate dream live unit. The Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, and Auto-Wah effects are the best in the industry and are used by pro player all over the world. Don't hesitate. Worth every last dime!

Claimed there was a scratch on the pedal and then charged $65 restocking fee. The pedal never looked my home and was used 1 time. Avoid seller at all costs - extremely shady.

Its good sounds legit and true. Just takes time tonset your presets. If thats dine the oedal is exactly as strymon advertises. Tbey know whatbthey are doinf. For the serious. If you want the best youngotta put in the time. Strymon delivers

Difficult to use. Saving presents is very difficult. Way too many menus. Impossible to utilize live without a midi controller. Presets are garbage. Save your money.

I own many single effect modulation pedals- this is a good multi effect unit, and especially excellent at producing stereo images that most effect pedals don't do at all or very well. Very little effect noise. Won't be selling my dedicated Univibe pedals however- this doesn't have quite the throb those have, although this produces a good stereo field for that effect. The rotary and tremolo effects are excellent and as good as Strymon's Lex and Flint in that regard. The Boss multi-modulation pedal does NOT produce nearly as good a stereo field. Easy to use after a very short time figuring it out. Many parameters are instantly accessible from top dedicated knobs. Considering the cost of single effects, this is good- despite it's inability to stack different effects simultaneously.
