Does not look like an ariel and works
I bought the new fabric ariel that looks more of an ornament than an ariel.Wired it up and it was crap, I thought oh no I've opted for the nice looking one that doesn't do the job with a lead way too short to move it around.Had I read about the ariel I would know you just rotate it to find signal. I moved it a few inches, rotated it and perfect ! I 'automatic re-scanned' channels in tv settings as the tv had been used on outside ariel and quite a few channels said 'service not available' or similar, the new ariel then found all the channels on tv freeview.I'm well impressed with this little unit and would recommend. It also looks cool not like an ariel at all, win win.

Excellent TV Aeriel
I purchased this after initially liking its modern look, and the fact it does not look like an aerial, and then reading customer reviews. I live in a valley where all aerials on top of houses are tall, so I wasn't hopeful of success…. What a surprise, I plugged it into the aerial socket on my TV (Old TV in spare room) and after moving the aerial just a little bit I have a perfect picture and sound.I would highly recommend this aerial

This works when other devices did not
I set up a new smart TV in my office and thought about linking it to my sky room box so i bought a video receiver/transmitter to try this. It didn't work, from the downstairs office to the sky box in the lounge or the bedroom. Plan B was to buy an indoor aerial and this worked brilliantly. I needed the Six booster too which made all the difference and make sure you tune to the best transmitter on the TV in signal settings. Great little aerial and doesn't need to be near the window or anything. I can get over 65 channels including mainstream ones like BBC and ITV.

Discrete and grey - but that's not why I bought it
Edit (28.1.2021) I tried this with a signal amplifier and it actually worked okay. I could pick-up most channels, with only a few whose signal too weak to watch. In a nutshell... if you do not have direct line of sight to a transmitter, I would strongly recommend using an amplifier. As a combination, it's acceptable.- - Original Review - - -I thought I would conduct a real world test, to save you the trouble. This product versus the mighty metal coat hanger.First impressions - the difference in price. The coat hanger comes out clearly ahead.Aesthetics wise though, the SLx is the clear winner - its grey fabric casing providing an acceptable level of technological anonymity. But what about functionality? Well, when it came to the number of channels found, the coat hanger proved its true worth - even finding BBC4 HD; something the SLx failed to do.So, the coat hanger has it. Not really what you want to hear.

Arrrghhhhh.... looks nice, but doesn't work!!!!!
I have realised when searching for a low value technical item such as a portable TV aerial, you are really leaving it down to the lap of the gods!. Fortunately I purchased two different types of aerials at the same time, on the basis that one might work if the other one didn't. Luckily this method of thought saved me. Unfortunately this aerial didn't work and therefore I can only say for the greater price £14.99 (compared to the £10.99 of the one that did work >> https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KV9C8LY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc), was a complete waste of money. This SLx product is not fit for purpose and effectively I have an item that is of no use to me other than looking like an "Alexa echo look-a-alike", but don't try talking to it! :-(. An unhappy customer.

Aerial position is crucial but results are fantastic
I went for this based on reviews both here and on other tech review websites. I am not a fan of the black paper thin aerials as they look quite ugly and obtrusive. This aerial was to go in an upstairs bedroom, in SE London, so the signal should be quite strong. Installation was easy but I did need to alter the position of the aerial to get the maximum number of channels. So, if at first you don't appear to get all (or any) channels do move the aerial about and re-scan your channel list. You can check online what channels in your area should be. I received what I believe is all the available Freeview channels (including the HD ones) - the only channel that has poor picture quality is the BBC Red Button Channel (but to be honest I hardly ever watch that so I'm not going to knock a star off Picture Quality just for that). The fabric aerial does look a little like an Amazon Echo device - shame it isn't...

In my area - it works
About as plug & play as you like. Take it out of the box, plug it in. Set TV to scan for channels. Now the loft conversion TV has a load of the Freeview channels. Exactly what I wanted it for and the parents-in-law were very happy with the picture etc.I had to twirl it around, and any minor rotation (say more than 10 degrees) will lose the signal: but on the whole this aerial does a good job. Its not the very cheapest choice, but it had more positive reviews, and I am adding to those. Maybe the signal is no so great down here in Devon, but if I was to give this product 5* it would have to be positioned more easily. However, IT DOES THE JOB.

Don't bother, worked ok for a few days ..after that it's rubbish
It's Stylish and compact...I installed it in the kitchen to try it out ,after hooking it up, i retuned the TV (auto channel scan) it got the minority of channels I use except the main ones then did returned again & got the rest .it worked after an hour of sorting the reception a bit of patience needed to find a good spot, clear picture on most channels ..however after a few days of having this it started playing up ..i rotated it almost every inch it would stretch and the Picture quality was just abysmal ..it crackled, fizzing pixels, static ..left it a few days ,went back & tried again ,still no change ..I couldn't stand it anymore & it ended up in a car boot sale ..Would i recommend this product?.. nope!! .. 1 star for design the only good thing about it..the paper thin ariel I got 6 months ago works better than this
