Doesn't trigger - we got burglarized.
DO NOT TRUST THIS AT ALL.Forget about the false positives. We were burglarized. Thieves broke the large master bedroom window. They never opened a door. The glass break sensor did not trigger. The alarm did not go off. They got away with a 20x20x30" 100lb safe (to show how big a hole they made in the window). During installation I tested it with YouTube glass shattering videos, as recommended.I'm not sure if the vibration glass sensor would work better, but anything is better than this device.

I just set it off with a sneeze
I love the Abode security system, but this sensor is poorly designed. In home mode, I'm just sitting here this morning, drinking my coffee about 15 feet from the sensor, and I sneezed. This set off the alarm system, which woke up the whole family. I know false alarms can be a problem, with pots and pans clanking, etc., but I was really surprised to trigger it with a sneeze. At a certain point, it just becomes unusable. The unit does have a sensitivity setting, so a reasonable approach might be to have one setting for away (high), and another setting for when you're home (med or low). Unfortunately, the unit has a design flaw in that the sensitivity is set with actual DIP switches, so there's no hope that software could ever implement such a scheme. Again, the system itself is fantastic. Just skip this sensor.

False alarms regularly
It trips even with no sounds in the room at all. Good way to p*** off your neighbors.

Can’t distinguish sounds
This is a terrible product, and potentially a dealbreaker for the Abode system if monitoring a sliding glass door (or large window) is an essential part of your security. This is tripped by any sound with any frequency. Setting down a coffe cup lightly, sliding cardboard on the phone, opening a cabinet. I guess the positive side is that it’s not going to miss actually broken glass.

Not Reliable!
Spend over $300 on the system and mine failed after 3 years according to Abode customer service. Looking for another reliable system.
