These Glide Caps make an essential difference to the manoeuvrability of a walking frame when its suppliers "forget" to include this important part. No small wonder though that the suppliers of the Glide Caps call themselves "Lifeswonderful" when they can charge £5 for two plastic caps that will cost a few coppers to manufacture!

These are perfect for my Drive folding zimmer/walking frame, obtained from Amazon. That frame was supplied with gliders which I discarded, as I then used the frame out of doors. This is no longer the case.Having read in one review that it was best to replace worn ferrules as the gliders didn’t fit these well, I was a little apprehensive. Replacing ferrules isn’t the easiest job sometimes.However, all was well. If your ferrules are straight-sided towards the base, rather than sloping, then they will fit.45 mm is 4.5 cms, so your ferrule needs to measure this across the base to fit properly. That’s a fraction under 1.8 inches, a tiny bit more than one-and-three-quarter inches.They make a real difference, sliding smoothly over carpets and hard floors, where rubber ferrules will squeak and drag.The walker won’t slide out of control, but there is now a freedom of movement that wasn’t there before.Please note, these won’t fit a tall narrow walker with 25 mm ferrules. This is clearly stated. I always feel sorry for sellers who receive one-star reviews, because people have bought an unsuitable item

If current rubber ferrules are old. They will have become smaller in size and hard. Found they kept falling off. So replace those 1st if they are.

Have used these guides for a different job that they were intended to do and they work very well.

The slider is too slack when I put the walking frame base into the slider not what I wanted because it was bought to help a 86 year old woman getting around her home and when she moves the frame comes away and she comes to a halt so it’s not safe

Value for money, sturdy and durable

They are strong and durable but larger than expected so do not fit on standard 25mm zimmer rubber feet. OK if skimming over carpets but as soon as zimmer is lifted they fall off.

sliders fitted easily on walker. Much easier walking for elderly lady who couldn't lift walker. Slides nicely on carpet. Hooray no more dragging noise on hard floors!
