Lange Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Flash Cards, Second Edition (LANGE FlashCards) 2nd Edition

I am going into nursing and I haven't really started using these cards to study yet because I have been studying A & P for the Hesi test, but I have went through them and looked at them and they are great. They have a clinical vignette on one side with symptoms experienced by someone and they have the disease on the other side along with where you obtain it from, the different symptoms, whether it is gram positive or negative, and the treatment for it.

I used these cards when my brain couldn't handle looking at first aid or Uworld questions anymore. They were super helpful.

These are the best flashcards. I love that one one side is the case scenario and on the other side detailed information about the infectious agent. The key to infectious diseases is picking up the key words associated with each disease - these flashcards train you to do that. In medical school you need to streamline your study and this helps you use your precious time efficiently.

Love the format of these cards. Case on the front, answer + info on the back. Much better for testing myself! Also, bought these used, but the cards were still shrink wrapped in plastic!

This is no better than a microbiology textbook and reads about the same but on note cards. I would not recommend this as a study aid if you are taking a college course in microbiology. You are better off just going off of the textbook required for the class.

bought it for someone else who happens to like it a lot; in the absence from a critical feedback from them I can't give it other than 5 starts (got here on time and in the described condition)

As a medical student it is important to make studying as efficient as possible, and that was my thinking when i purchased these notecards for medical microbiology. I have two major complaints about these review cards that I feel completely ruined any value they might have had as study materials . First things first, for a subject like microbiology that is very visual I figured that these cards would be in color and include pictures of the different pathogens, however they fall short on both counts, they are black and white and include no photos. To make matters worse the cards do not have index tabs to clearly divide the different groups of microorganisms. This may not seem like a big deal but when you have to sort through 400 cards in order to find 40 bacteria that you want to focus on it seems counterproductive. The layout of the cards is jumbled on the reverse side but it does include an adequate amount of information along with a clinical vignette, however the drawbacks of its poor organization and lack of color photos makes these a grade-A waste of time. Purchase at own risk.
