Spear & Jackson 5253PK Enhanced Telescopic Patio Knife

My first impression of this gadget is, it's fantastic. I had been using one of those wooden poles (with a small blade and a bit of wire brush for £12) and compared to that, this is like a Rolls Royce. In 5 minutes I managed to remove several weeds that I was unable to do before (it was taking me about 45 seconds for a single weed) this is a case of two carefully placed gliding strokes over the weed and it's totally removed from the block paving (root and all). It also says it has a 10 year guarantee, so I am VERY happy! I highly recommend it!

When the gap is big enough this is great - gets into the gap and pulls the weeds right out. Sadly I didnt fully understand how it worked and on my brick driveway (which is where the weed problem is) the bricks are too tightly aligned to get this into a gap to work... but when the gap is wide enough it is really good , a well made item and seems really sturdy.

I bought this to cut vegetation in and around my small pond. I have spinal chord damage so my balance and core strength are poor. This has proved very capable for that purpose. It is very light to use one handed. Appears good quality. The blade is very sharp and even managed to cut through 12mm thick hard fibrous stems. The ability to alter the length with a simple twist and push/pull action is good. No fiddly buttons or levers to sieze or attract debris. I was so impressed I also cut down some hard stem garden perenials which are dying back.I can also see me using it to cut fruit off my Plum and Cherry Trees next season.

Time saving legendary bit of kit. I've only used it once or twice so can't comment on durability but it makes me less apprehensive to do the garden!The handle lock (extension) bit is a little bit iffy - it might loosen a bit under pressure but seems to still work just fine.I'm 5'8 and it's much longer than I need.

Great product but telescopic part jammed. Amazon directs customer to spear and Jackson but response was to go back through Amazon! Frustrating so ended up having to buy a second. The product is sharp and if it was possible to change the length it would be excellent.

Telescopic weeding knife - great for cutting the weeds when you have difficulty bending. Easy to adjust and lock in place - good sharp weeding knife which is comfortable and easy to use

This tool is well made and seeming good quality. There are just a couple of design issues that stop me giving that extra star.The telescopic handle can come loose when you are using sufficient force to get weeds out of paving grouting. The rubber grip on top of handle starts to come off quite easily, shame as this could have been solved with some adhesive.Probably the biggest design flaw in my opinion is blade, it is too thin. Dont get me wring it is excellent quality and very sharp, but the thinness means it easily goes past weeds rather than cut and remove them. I am using a small handled version as a comparsion, which has a blunter knife blade but is much thicker, meaning it gets caught up in much more weed and therefore cuts more out.Overall it makes the job less back breaking than small handle ones and is so lightweight with a very sharp blade, but a few minoe design flaws hold it back.

I used this to remove the weeds in my paving. It works really well, I am very pleased with my purchase. Very sturdy and easy to use

Es una excelente herramienta para el corte de maleza, posee una cuchilla afilada que facilita la tarea. Su mango telescópico le permite llegar al sitio sin tener que adentrarse en la maleza. En mi opinión es una herramienta simple pero eficaz.
