These are really solid and well-made. They look very classy with their matte black, textured finish. We used them throughout a newly constructed mountain home that's a mix of modern and traditional with all matte black fixtures and hardware, and they look great. We needed some in black, and some in off-white for carpeted areas. All the ones available in white looked shiny, thin and/or cheap, so we took some of the black ones to be powder-coated (after removing the louvered portion that attaches to the back of the grille) and they turned out great. Then we discovered we needed one more off-white one but didn't want to pay the setup fee for another powder coating project, so we put several coats of a matching spray paint on it and that worked too. It's been a year and none of them (the original black ones, the powder coated ones, or the spray painted one) have chipped or scratched yet.

VERY heavy duty! Is perfect for vents in high traffic areas! It’s not too thick where you’re worried of stubbing your toes or anything. Lays pretty flush but withstands standing/walking on! Super easy to install, very nice looking and the perfect matte black!

Looks good and works well, with the trim was a little larger to help cover the rough opening more. It’s just not a forgiving size.

After reading the instructions on how to measure a vent, I ordered. The vent is well made and fits perfectly.
