Quite A Nice Knife For The Money
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised when this knife arrived. I believe it's made in Pakistan where Damascus was originally forged a couple thousand years ago so they should know a little bit about how to produce it. The knife blade looks to be true layered Damascus and is very well done. The blade looked and felt nicely sharpened from the factory. Time will tell how long it will hold an edge as well as how it will be to sharpen it. My knife shows that who ever the person was that put it together took their time and used some craftsmanship and pride in what they were doing. I appreciate that type of workmanship. The bone scales used on the handle are very nicely fitted and feels good in the hand. The leather sheath is nicely made with double stitching and the main seam is double layered leather to assure the blade will not cut through. It looks like the sheath can be worn either vertically or horizontally and should fit a belt 1 1/2" to 2"wide. This is a full tang knife and the blade measures 3/16" thick, 4" long from bolster to tip of blade with an overall length of 8". This is my first Perkin Damascus knife and if this is a sample of what the finish product will be like then I can see myself buying additional Perkin Knifes in the future. I might add that I use my knifes and this one will be used to field dress Antelope and Deer. It might be a little short for Elk but I'll certainly give it a try if I get drawn for an Elk license. Give this particular Perkins Knife a try, I think you'll like it.

not the highest quality, but are price for what they are IMHO a good buy
Nice Ivory like handle. Perkin knives, I bought almost a dozen for gifts to nephews. They are not the highest quality, but are price for what they are IMHO a good buy. Real Damascus or etched? for the price probably etched but you can't tell by looking so I won't say one way or another. The come fairly to very sharp, some shaper than others. Out of all that I have purchased I was not disappointed in any or in the sheaths that accompanied them.

I like it a lot
I like it a lot. Beautiful knife, craftsmanship looks great too. I really like the size, perfect size for my hip and everyday use. Sheath is beautiful too, just a bit jacked in the belt loop sew, see photo's. Oh, yeah its decent sharp. I give it 4 instead of 5 simply because I will need to alter the sheath to make it wearable. I hate mailing things back, the whole wait thing all over again.

Not cheap just cheaply made.
A sorry excuse for a knife. Returned.

good piece for the price
This knife has a full damascus tang, and well worth the price. The bone scales are smooth and look good at a glance. The ends should have been finished properly. Thx RC

abosolutely Gorgeous
Incredible knife!, great workmanship ! razor sharp! the price? unbelievable! you could not buy the material to make this knife for this price. a custom knife of this quality usually costs 5 to 10 times this! Love it!

A beautiful steel my the first Damascus blade
The finishing of the butt of the grip was not as professionally done as the rest of the grip and spoiled the effect of such a beautiful knife.

The right kind of a knife for the right kind of a guy.
It was given as a gift to my grandson. It was to replace one that his father has that he wanted. Works great, and the grandson was well pleased

Homemade looking- but that's it's charm
This is a fun, funky knife. Well put together, and smooth and well polished all around, as sharp as any knife will come out of the box. The steel billet it's made from is the thickest I've ever seen-this is a stout knife! Good camping knife, and is sure to draw some attention. I'll probably buy another Perkin knife, it's unlike any other

Acciaio damasco
