They handled the wind very well
Used with 18 x 24, Coroplast corrugated plastic 4mm yard signs. They've held up great in these April winds! Also used one with a 10mm corso-last sign. I drilled a hole and secured the sign onto the Spider with a zip tie.In the past, I've used the standard H-Frames which bend over backwards in the wind - and the horizontal rod weld sometimes breaks if you use your foot to push them down.Last fall I bought "heavy duty" H frames and the top, U-section snapped off MOST of them in the wind!! Admittedly, I was using bigger signs (24x28), but REALLY? The welds broke on the HEAVY-duty frames? These Spider Stakes are molded like steel I-Beams and then have two metal rods molded in to hold the sign. PLUS, they have a horizontal foot peg you step on to push it into the ground.Absolutely the best stakes I have found, and at the same $3.00 each as the awful heavy-duty wire frames!!Have not tried them with bigger signs in th November-December winds yet. We'll see at the holidays!

These are great for short term use - but are pretty flimsy ...
These are great for short term use - but are pretty flimsy and easily broken. I'm a Realtor and use these a few times a month for open house signs, and see a lot of breakage from wind, or even just insertion into the ground. However - I do like the convenience and speed of installation from a single leg to poke into the ground (as opposed to the two legs of a typical wire stake) and I think they look a little classier. At a little over a buck apiece, my expectations weren't that high - and these (mostly) meet that standard. But the heavy duty wire stakes are what I use for long term use, as they're far more durable, and can be bent back into shape if hit by a heavy wind gust, or a student driver...

If you’re located near a highway, road, or windy area these will blow away.
Break easily and aren’t long enough to keep from blowing down if you are in a moderately windy area.

Exactly what I needed and just as described
Perfect. Sturdy frame for my corrugated signs.

They're so easy to insert into the signs
Over the course of a year, all 25 have broken. They are not strong enough for anything other than damp soil with no rocks in it; forget about frozen ground. I have to put these close to the roadsides, and they break at the slightest effort to push through hard pack soil. They're so easy to insert into the signs, it's really disappointing that they are so brittle.

Look great but will break
These look great. They really do. Much nicer than the boring, flimsy galvanized wire H stakes. The unfortunate thing is that, other than the pins that fit into the sign itself, the stake is entirely plastic. Don't stomp into hard ground, use in strong winds or throw them around roughly in your trunk. If the ground is hard, a tent stake makes a hole that will work. The manufacturer needs to add a metal shiv to reinforce the bottom just past the foot piece.

but still fairly happy with them
Have had some points break, but still fairly happy with them. I have started to drill holes in dirt slightly smaller than the spikes, it saves time when setting multiple signs. Not sure how well they will work once the ground gets colder.
