Bach for the Cello: 10 Easy Pieces in 1st Position - Accompaniment CD

Let me preface this with the statement that I'm a retired IT consultant. Unlike many of these bad reviews, I knew all I was getting was a DVD of the audio accompaniment. What I didn't know is that the DVD doesn't contain standard audio files. It's got software called Amazing Slow Downer Lite, which is crippled to work only with this company's files. You MUST install it directly from a DVD drive attached to a pc, (not a shared drive or a mounted ISO), you must install the software and play the files from inside the software. It might be useful, since the software allows you to slow down the tracks to play along while you learn, provided you have a pc with a DVD drive in your practice space. My practice space is upstairs, and I use an Android tablet for my audio source. There's only one machine in the house with a DVD drive, and it's downstairs in the office. The only way this is usable is if I drag my cello, music, music stand, cello chair, rock stop, bow, tuner blah blah blah downstairs to the office.There is an Android and an IOS version of Amazing Slow Downer, but the version you get on the play store is not compatible with the tracks on this disc, the ONLY way this retired IT consultant was able to get it to work is on a Windows pc with a DVD drive.I suppose it's possible that my skills have become outdated since I retired 5 years ago. I certainly have not been keeping up with technology. But I sure would have thought I'd be able to figure out something that's designed for musicians, since until about the last decade musicians have not been very tech savvy.All of this just so they can make sure that I don't copy it illegally.Sucks.

An excellent set of challenges for the new cello student. Bowing and intonation receive focus as us always the case with Bach.Recommended especially because working on them gives one the feeling of that he is making progress toward greater challenges.

This item is only an accompaniment CD. There is no sheet music even though the description says it's 20 pages. My book came with only 4 pages of info about the CD and nothing else. This product was not as described.

Easy pieces with an optional CD to play along. Helps develop timing and pieces are great!

Do not buy this! There was a cd and no music in the copy I received. How am I supposed to play with the cd when no music is included.

I though it was book of cello songs it was not it was a CD with the accompany tracks on it.

We have a lovely cello which my son used to play and as I play the violin I thought I'd take it up. Knowing the basics of music I couldn't bear the beginners books which are great but a bit boring so I bought this in order to learn all the first position notes. Fantastic! There is a real incentive to play such lovely pieces. Just keep a diagram of where the notes are on the strings and away you go. Totally the wrong way to go about it but it works for me! A great buy.

This isn't clear when you order, this is only a CD of piano accompaniment and not the sheet music. Be warned.

Item arrived in excellent condition, without any problems. But it should be better specified that contains only the accompaniments CD. I bought it absently thinking of having the pieces by Bach, which I bought at a later time

Careful, this is only the cd, the sheet music and cd are below. Its an easy mistake to make, I did! Linda

Awesome book. I've been playing for 4 months and am already playing Bach! It comes with the piano accompaniment which is nice.
