318177720 Range Bake Igniter Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part

Bottom igniter stopped working on our 26 year old Tappan gas oven. New one works like a charm! Just be sure to order ceramic wire nuts (22-10 gauge) as you have to cut the old connectors off and splice them onto the new igniter.

Saved us from having to buy a new oven!Our ancient Tappan oven died a few months back. I called several oven repair guys who either won’t come, completely ghosted me and one finally said Tappan is a defunct company and parts for it are now nonexistent and Id have to buy a new oven. Google search said otherwise and led me to this part. Oven is now good as new! A little difficult to install but no more than 20 minutes.

This worked like a charm! I was all upset when I thought my stove was shot. I did some troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the igniter. My stove is an old Tappan model that came with house I bought last year. The original part was something like $190. Then I found this part and saved me!!Taking out the part was a bit of work, but re-installing was a walk in the park as by then - you know how stove works.Best money I ever spent!! I had it shipped expedited. They use UPS so it took a day or two longer than promised. I wouldn't let that detract from how satisfied I am with installation.Even if you think there is a remote chance that the igniter is broke - this is worth a shot if it saves you buying a new stove.

Ceramic igniter perfect fit just had to splice the new wires to the old wires ( which I had cut to remove the old igniter ) using ceramic wire nuts. After testing without gas on to ensure it worked I turned gas on and the oven was good as new. $170 bucks less than part 318177720 on e replacements.com ( frigidaire igniter ) which is a good thing.

I purchased this as a replacement for my Tappan stove. The model number was worn off so I matched it based on the dimensions and picture of the old unit. The only difference was the connections. This unit doesn't have the connections like the old one. To buy one with those connections was around $100. I just cut the ones off the old one and spliced them on to this unit. Oven hasn't worked this good in quite a while.

Part did not match the picture and there were no lugs on attached to the wires. It came with a couple of cheap wire nuts. Could have gotten the same for a lower price. Part number is incorrect. Box says WB2X9998 which a GE part. Only reason I bought this because it is supposed to have the lugs.

Worked good with no problems.
