Loads of reviews here that give justice to a film that many will have in their top all time best film listing as I do.My copy is the 10th Anniversary, 3 disc Special Edition. Disc 1 has the film and with it an exemplary audio description track for the visually impaired. Indeed the box set has a sticker across it in braille. There are English subtitles for the hearing impaired. A commentary by Frank Darabont the director, plus biographies and memorable quotes.Discs 2 & 3 are choc-a-bloc full of extras and bonus features that are a real treat in entertainment and information when you have a few hours to spare on a rainy day ---- I've watched some of it, not all, and I'm glad the producers were able to compile these extras before we lose some of those players from the film.Years from now people will be scrambling to put together something like this to recognize the importance of the film. Thankfully it has been done, credit to the producers and crew for their foresight.This version of the film is 136 minutes long and is a perfect example of the level of sophistication that a company / group can reach to bring a product to both the hearing and visually impaired. Well done.

This is without doubt a wonderful and inspiring film. One I have enjoyed onnumerous occasions and been able to feel good all about every time. The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies that could have been madein the golden age of cinema. A true classic from the short story by Stephen King in which wesee the character of Andy Dufraine sent to Shawshank Prison for the wrongful slayingof his wife and her lover. A life sentence in this penetentiary is a cruel , brutal and hardeningexperience for Dufraine. But his spirit is never broken no matter how hard the Governer , otherprisoners and the authorities try to destroy him ! The characters , the location and the story of 'Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption 'to give the film her proper title are so well drawn and you care about them all. In particular I love theMorgan Freeman one as Red who befriends Andy Dufraine and they become real good pals. The Shawshank Redemption is a timeless film for me and can be watched when you need to belifted up from having a bad day or just to be able to experience that ' Feel Good Shawshank Redemption 'feeling,A Remarkble Movie !Thank YouCraig : )

Bought this last year as something to keep to watch in future as it’s a favourite of mine. Just taken the cellophane off the disc case today to find the disc inside is the Channel 4 Series The Inbetweeners. Not Walmart I had paid money for. This is a 3rd party seller adddd to my ‘avoid’ list!

Was reluctant to watch this film because of prison violence. Finally watched it on Saturday. Violent ++ but the story is so uplifting. A brilliant brilliant film. Highly recommend it

Brilliant film but would have been more enjoyable if there were english subtitles available.Probably copied (officially) from VHS tape onto DVD, (hence no subtitles), but did have two separate film formats, one each side of disc.One side of the disc has Video Aspect Ratio 1: 4:3 , whereas the flip side of the disc has Video Aspect Ratio 16:9.The film has a great story-line and recommend anyone to watch and enjoy.PS: However I have now bought a second copy which does have english subtitles, and only one side playable this time..Attention to DVD sales details listed to determine whether DVD has subtitles or not..

This is amazing value for money, you get the discs for the film, special features and the script book which is a book which has the entire Shawshank Redemption script in it, great to add to my collection as I am a big Film lover! :)

Another upgrade, the transfer quality is amazing the sound has been upgraded too. A must buy if you are upgrading to Blu-Ray.
