All my uni-body vehicles lack great jacking points
All my uni-body vehicles lack great jacking points. I wanted a jack stand with a flat rubber pad so I wouldn't leave marks on the sub-frame or suspension components the home mechanic must now use. To that end, these stands are perfect. One work of caution, these stands are probably too tall for most cars. I have the stand set to its lowest height but I have to lift my cars to the highest reach of my floor jack (20 inches) to get these stands under the cars. My SUV doesn't have this problem. It would be great if they would make a two pack of these stands under $100 that are 2/3 the minimum height for home use.EDIT: The minimum jack stand height with pin installed is 14 inches. I attached a bad photo for another shopper who had questions about modifying the stand.

Worth the money
I bought 4 of these to save money and remove my transmission on my S2000 myself. I currently have my car up 18" on these which is plenty high and the car is absolutely rock solid. I've tried pushing it to get it to move any and it won't budge. I'd have no qualms at all going full height with these. The quality is spot on. In fact the photos don't give justice to how sturdy and well built these are. The purchase was worth every penny and saved me over $1000 in labor.I ordered 4 at once and they came 2 in a box. There was some bubble wrap in there but they could have done a little better job on the internal packing. Did have one cotter pin missing and contacted the seller. They responded quickly and sent me a replacement (as well as an extra one) very timely. Super happy with the product and seller response.

A robust jack stand for safety and peace of mind, rubber top accommodates irregular jacking points
I used two of these babies to support the front of my car (3700 lbs). It is more than I need but when I am spending hours under the car, I like the peace of mind. I also use chocks on the rear wheels and put the front tires and rims underneath as backup. I ordered these jack stands separately to avoid the issues with poor packing that other customers have pointed out. Mine arrived in new condition. The welds were not the prettiest but nothing that makes me not trust the stands. What I particularly appreciate is that the thick rubber disc on top of the stand mates well with the jacking points on my W203 Mercedes and did not cause any damage to their plastic supports. The car felt completely stable when perched on them. A lower price or more impressive finish would have garnered five stars - otherwise highly recommended.

Best stands I've owned or used!
I bought these to use with my Porsche as it doesn't have a pinch weld and needs a stand with a flat top to sit under the jack points. These are far and away the best jack stands I've owned or used. Construction is very good. They will be durable. The 3-leg design makes them easier to keep stable. Most 4-leg stands tend to wobble or teeter on a slightly non-level surface. I also found it very nice that these come with the rubber tops to keep the metal from scratch or marring up the paint on the underbody of the car. It also increases friction to ensure nothing slips. Height adjustment is easy, and with the pin attached to the stand you can't lose them.

Incorrect Description
Potential buyer be aware that this product is not as described. The jack stands I recieved have half the adjustment settings and are shorter than as listed. Amazon has been made aware but when I requested a refund I was transferred a lot, told it was against policy and that I would have to return the item and to pay shipping. I was even informed by a representative that I could not be helped even though my purchase was through amazon. The description also remains misrepresentative of the actual product even though amazon has been made aware. This is the second esco product I have purchased from amazon that was drastically different from what was described and not functional for my needs. Shame on both parties for misleading the consumer and continuing to do so. I certainly won’t be getting under a car to trust my life to this inferior stand.

Pricey but SOLID!!
SOLID...These are pricey as far as jack stands go. I bought 4 in order to get my car completely off the ground when I work under it. Once the car is resting on these, I don't worry at all getting completely under the car, with all the wheels off, torqueing bolts, prying exhaust pipes, etc. I have used other jack stands with various configurations and none have felt as secure as these ESCO stands. Having used these, I'll never go back to my other stands. If you are on the fence because of the price, just do yourself a favor and buy them. You wont be disappointed!!

Finally a solid jack stand
These stands are solid and appear to be well built. Much nicer than the 4-legged ones. The round base plates are very nice and won't damage the floor when using these on bare concrete floors in the garage. The rubber pad is also nice and solid. The center poll is solid material, not a pipe.Even though it says the price is per unit, when I ordered mine I ordered qty 1 but received a pair. It even said so on the box "Sold as pair". However, other reviewers have reported they only got one, so not sure. Perhaps dependent on the vendor. I am very happy with this purchase.Worth noting is the min. height of 14" at the lowest setting. They are bigger than they appear on the picture! These are tall and may not be suitable for vehicles that are lower to the ground.

You'll throw rocks at your current jack stands once you get these
I'll echo what seems to be the consensus here: not very pretty but well-made and a huge step up from the square ratcheting stands. I took my square stands and put them to the curb. These are the only way to go, period. I heeded advice and just purchased one. It came in a box twice its size with no packing material. It was OK, but 2 of them banging around would have caused damage. I waited til the first one arrived and then ordered the second one. All is well.
