Great product for the price! Won't last forever, but I'm buying the same thing again.
This is one of those kitchen products that really changed the way we cook and eat. I used to struggle with time and energy to prep vegetables for weeknight dinners. I tried cutting veggies in advance - works well for some foods, but very poorly with others (ie, onions, zucchini). I can't stand eating dried-out salads that were cut the day (or more) before. I also don't have time to get out my big, clumsy mandoline and deal with all the pieces and cleaning it up afterward. With this product, I can make salad or cooked vegetables in minutes. I slice carrots and onions right over the top of salads. I set the thickness to "1" or "2" and slice zucchini or summer squash right into a pan already warming on the stove (with a little salt and pepper, or Italian seasonings, this is a really easy side dish). I love that this product reduces both my prep time and clean up and has increased the amount of vegetables we eat. My household uses The Prepworks Mandoline almost daily (at least 5 days/week).I am giving this product four stars instead of five because it became more difficult to clean after the first year of use. I did not encounter the problems other reviewers mentioned with food getting stuck during the first year of use, and assumed it was because I was always cleaning it right away. I'm not sure if the blade loosened from use or if the mandoline was left with food on it one too many times, but it's become more difficult to get small food fragments out from behind the blade. It also seems like it's taking longer to air dry and it's impossible to get water out of the space between the blade and the main plastic board with towel drying. I'm tossing out the old one, but I will replace it with the same product. I normally avoid disposable products, but with more than a year and half of heavy use, and no good substitutes on the market, I will keep buying these as long as the replacements are as good as the first.

Just what I was looking for
I bake a lot of vegetables for my pets. And their favorites are sweet potatoes and zucchini. Since I cook so many it's always been very difficult to slice them all evenly and also without cutting myself. This tool made it so very easy fast and convenient! A little hard to cut through the potatoes because they're so dense, but definitely recommend having this on hand. Very simple to use, straightforward, and easy cleanup.

Love it! Just be careful using any mandolin
Love this thing! It makes very quick work of onions and potatoes, and you can adjust the slice thickness. Other cooks in the family warned me against it however it does have a guard, and to further prevent losing a finger I wear cut resistant gloves when using it. You just have to be suuuper careful using any mandolin

I love this small flat mandolin—buy it!
Love it. Easy to use and clean. Rinse right way. Great size to store and travel with. Use for my vegetables daily. Soft and hard but mist if my veggies are not very hard. Fruits like apples or pears can work. Oranges and grapefruits I would not use. Jalapeño can work but not short ones as blade is sharp. Potatoes are usually very hard and don’t want to dull blade so I don’t use it. Can however. I have a manual tool that makes curly ridges and can slices. Like French fries. Jalapeño use longer ones and not short ones as blade is sharp.

SHARP BLADE
Works like a charm. It is adjustable and can make slices in several thicknesses. Just to be safe we use special gloves that can’t be cut when we use it, although it does have a safety knob to protect your hand. It slices beautifully.

Doesn't cut thick enough for me. See Edit too.
For the price, this is a nice mandoline; however, I had hoped the thickest setting would be thicker. Number 3 position measures 4 millimeters (a 1/4 inch is about 6.5 mm). The thinnest is a sliver, which would be great for making potato chips or for dehydration.Edit: This worked fine for slicing potatoes, but didn't work when trying to slice an apple on #2 thickness (uneven slices at best). I think the problem was that I didn't core the apple first, and the blade couldn't easily cut through the tough center. The guard tore up the top of the apple.
