Pergamano Parchment Craft: Basic Techniques

As described. Excellent. Just what I needed.

Martha writes nice instructions and there are some lovely patterns in this book. A nice addition to my parchment craft library!

Parchment craft is a new hobby to me, so I was looking for techniques and how to get started. Book was in great condition and exactly what I was looking for..

The layout of the book is very nice, going from easier to more difficult projects. If followed in order, one can learn all the basic techniques for parchment crafting. It would have been nice if alternative ways of doing things would have been suggested (such as using fancy shears instead of perforating and cutting). However, I recommend it.

Love the designs

The book is clearly written, and goes into the details of the embossing and other techniques of the pergamano designs. It does give instructions on different projects, such as cards, bookmarks, etc. However it does not go into how- and- what glue to use to keep the glue from showing behind the parchment or vellum, thus the teacher is basically saying finish your card on your own and good luck. Vellum spray-on-adhesive looks less that lovely on a pergamano card I am hoping that another book by the same author will, for all practical purposes, teach us pergamano players how to glue our work to cardstock in a manner that doesn't ruin the many hours it takes to create a piece of finished embossing. That is the ONE issue I am having repeated concern with, and the book doesn't go into that. I would have thought it was a basic. The book mentioned sewing the cardstock to the design along the fold, once, and also mentions inserting a piece of cardstock into the folded design. Otherwise, finishing for a permanent work of art isn't discussed at all. Too bad.

This is good for new starters like myself, lots of useful explanations etc with templates also.

It arrived ahead of said time. Has important instructions and fair pictures.
