Bought 4 - One broke - All bulky and hard to use
First I have tried tons of tank lights, and this is the only one I would buy again, so if you need one, buy this one... now on to why it is still 1 star.I have dove every continent but Antarctica, I have taken this light to three continents in last 6 months. I am a PADI Dive Master working in Salish Sea, so these are a must for my discover local students, so I bought 4 to have for night dives or low visibility dives as spares for students. The Salish Sea is tough on your gear, with low temps, high silt, no showers near dive sites, and more. You would think they would make a decent tank marker light. Out of all the lights except the disposable bad for environment ones, these are the best, which is my concern.Cons:The problem is they are cheaply made, plastic already cracked on the first one after 6 months and 100 dives. No indicator marks for the batteries so you have to play the guessing game when putting them together. They are bulky, with un-needed plastic in the design, the O-rings snag easy with poorly designed grooves, and the super long strap they give you hangs to far from any point on tank or BCD, making it flip around. Their is no secondary fail safe, so if it floods both the light and the battery are gone, they could easily design the light portion to also be waterproof like Kraken does.Pros:Sadly best out there so far. Battery life with two lithium rechargeables (Not included) is amazing, this lasts longer than the disposable ones on a single charge. Not disposable, we don't need to fill our oceans with plastic junk anymore.Divers spend a lot of money on our gear, please make something designed for us, this market is ripe for some innovator to eat it up if this one star product is still the best I tried.

Didn’t work out of the box
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I kayak and came back from a trip this week wishing I had something just like this for enhanced safety. Fortunately, I’d already ordered the Eco Flare and it arrived quickly.Sadly, this item did not work out of the box. I tried replacing the batteries that came with it for fresh ones but that didn’t help. I had kept the red LED in place that came pre-installed.Made a video - perhaps the mfgr can tell me if I’m doing something wrong. Yes, it’s screwed all the way down.

Misleading description, not impressive construction.
I purchased this to put in my bike pack, for use as a back signal to oncoming traffic and also to have an extra light if I need (with the interchangeable bulb).Out of the box, I thought I had a defective product. The batteries that the product came with were dead. When I put my own batteries in, I had to spend a while switching them around and rotating the bulb assembly, when it finally lit up. So if you think your light doesn't work, just fiddle with it for a little while longer. So, with brand new high output batteries, this light is barely brighter than a 7w bulb in my oven.I do not feel safe using this as a signal light on my back for riding my bike on the road at night. I would not recommend people use this for that purpose at all, at this price point their are other options.I will keep it around as a back up for backcountry riding, just as a emergency signal because they claim it has 500 hours of light, which is much more than any other light system I have.

Useless as a navigation light.
The instrauctions really are not that clear. I bought this as a nav light for kayaking. As such it would clip into the tab on my PFD. However it only seems to want to flash red. The packaging says it can be used as a solid white light but I can't seem to get it to do that. There is no switch - it turns on and off by screwing the top tighter or looser. The LED unit fits in with two orientations - this would reverse teh current. One way it flashes red - the other was it does nothing. as a nav light this is pretty useless.

Good light for my use
I got this to put on my dog collar for night time walks and when I let him out in the yard at night by himself. Its water proof and it turns on with a twist. The best selling point is the 500 hour burn time on the Red flashing bulb. It would be nice if it was a bit smaller but considering the price and battery it users Its not that bad because I have a large dog ( he doesn't complain). Only gripe I have was swapping the bulb from white to red flashing. It comes with a little package that has the two bulbs in it. You need to pull the one in the flash light out and push the new one in. Took me a good 15 minutes to get the bulb out and the new one in.

Didn't work.... TWICE!!
Just received it, thought it looked like good quality. Saw it was made in the USA and was even impressed that it had Duracell batteries instead of some no name cheap ones. I put the batteries in ..... and ...... nothing. Swapped out for the red bulb ..... nothing. Tried different AAA batteries ..... nothing. I am returning this faulty one and a new one is supposedly on the way from Amazon. Will update if the 2nd try is better.2nd Try: failure... I received the 2nd unit quickly (Amazon return process is quite easy). However, this unit did not work either. Incredibly disappointed.

Better than nothing, but don't depend on it helping you.
The light flashes red, but it doesn't seem very bright. I really thought it would flash a bright white light. There is no way you could see this well from a distance. Also, it's not very durable. I dropped it once by accident, and couldn't get it working again. Although it randomly started working a few minutes later. For safety reason I would want to be able to depend on it.

Last for weeks,
Stays lit for a long time but does get progressively weak the longer it runs. I just wish they had a clear cap for using this as a flashlight.

Very useful
I bought this when I was marathon training for those dark winter evening runs... it's small and compact and was light and easy enough to connect to my running belt - it happily flashed it's little red LED during my training....From a scuba perspective (I'm PADI Rescue) - I'd be (not tried but...) less happy, it's too small for a personal strobe - but would be OK for marking things - assuming it's clear water - as I'm not sure how strong the light is....As an additional note - this only flashes "red" and switching to the "solid white" bulb is a bit fiddly....
