A much needed accessory for those of us with a 36" opening. Came scratch free and it's pretty sturdy. Easy to install. Definitely pull of the sides of the protective film before installing, as it makes it easier to pull off.Only thing I didn't like was that although it's meant for a 12" cabinet depth, there was about 1" in the back that was left as a gap. I am going to have to find something to block it, as I feel it will collect oil there over time.But it was a perfect fit for a whirlpool WMH53521HZ (2.1 cu ft), especially in height.Though it feels really expensive for 2 pieces of metal that is almost 1/3 of the price of the microwave! 😀See the pictures to see a comparison with the other filler kit, which is shorter and more expensive. This one worked perfectly for my home.The 2nd picture is the other filler kit, which is much shorter. The 5th picture is of this filler kit, which worked out perfectly for my home. The last picture is a comparison between the old microwave and the new one which was installed with this filler kit.

It was a perfect match for our 36 in microwave replacement. It did fill the gap for 30 in. The brushed steel color matched perfectly. Taking away a star because the holes for the screw is kind of off, if you have little extra trim to the cabinet. If the cabinet surface is flat, it sits perfectly.

We bought this trim kit as a filler to replace our 36” microwave for the installation of our new 30” microwave since 30” is the new standard. This trim kit is the closest measurement we could find to what we needed. We needed 12 inches in length exactly and this trim piece is actually just under 11 inches. The height is 17 1/4 and the width about 3 inches. I don’t know why they would advertise 12 inches when it’s actually 10 7/8 inches in length. I’m not sure if we can still use it. We’d have to add a shim to the end to prevent grease from getting underneath our microwave. If it doesn’t work, will return.

We've installed many microwaves over the years, and this is a good product. It does take some time to consider what you want the final results to look like when installing. There is no perfect fix for all situations, and they've done well with this to accommodate many of the possibilities. For example, do you want this flush with the front of the cabinet or set back behind the lip created by the wood on the face of the cabinet? Are you okay with an opening at the top of each side of the microwave (grease/dirt/etc.)? I would buy this again, it's a great solution.

Does not fit the microwave well at all (the new no fingerprint Samsung). Had to cut to make it work.

These are perfect for filling in the space around the sides of my microwave. My house came with a larger opening for the microwave and any standard size microwave has empty space around the sides. This matches the Whirpool microwave i purchased and looks good.

We had a 36” microwave that died. It seems only 30” microwaves are now being made. We purchased these fillers to close the gap. They were easy to install, look very nice, and were much cheaper than other similar options!
