I’ve been using this adjustable window security bar for a while, and it really does its job. It’s sturdy and keeps your window from opening, so you feel safe and secure. The adjustable design works for different window sizes, which is super convenient. Overall, it’s a simple, reliable way to add a little extra peace of mind to your home.

I used this to secure a vertical window that has a window AC installed. It's well made but I was actually close to returning it because it was just a little too short for my window. The next peg down was too tight and the next peg up was too short. Just then, I realize that you can unscrew the rubber portion at the bottom for micro adjustments. If you can't get a tight fit on your window, you'll want to use the screw near the rubber portion to get it as tight as possible. I do think the bar is probably better suited for sliding glass since it will sit flat on the sill and keep the window from being opened. For vertical windows, someone could just break your window and just push the bar out of the way. I still think it's good to have and extra peace of mind but I would probably go a step further with sash locks in addition to the security bar for extra protection. It will certainly defeat the average dumb crook but if someone really wants in, you'll want more than a bar that can be defeated by breaking the glass. It's still a good product and very well made and sturdy which is why I'm going 5 stars.

I like that these are square, that you can fine-tune the length exactly, and that their relatively unusual length span fits my sash windows. I feel more secure than with another type of bar I tried. Being able to adjust them so the windows are partly open is great. It keeps a person from getting in but my cat can still enjoy nature while watching our bird feeders. I don't use the adhesive or hardware, so prying it out to adjust the holes can be a pain; it appears it could be even with a different installation, but just a guess. Still, the pros far outweigh that con.

I got this window bar to "lock" my window where I installed the hose to my AC unit for the summer. I needed the bar as long as it would go. It installed very easily and I couldn't open the window post installation. I did screw it into the frame at the top to make sure it doesn't pop out if it was attempted to be forced open. Extending the window bar nearly the whole way does take some of the sturdiness out of it because the extension is no longer inside the bar adding to the sturdiness. It makes it a bit wobbly. But with it screwed into the frame, I'm confident that this window bar won't be moving.

I purchased this to protect our house from someone just pushing up the window with our air conditioning unit. The material is heavy duty steel. We have old fashioned windows and it just fit with our window curtains. We will buy another one for our second window. Our old method was using a 2x1 piece of wood. This definitely replaced it! Very satisfied with the lock bar.

Not sure if I was using it on the wrong type of window but I’m sure it would work for some types. Did not work for me and isn’t super sturdy. I think it may only fit certain windows.

It’s a small thing but makes me feel safer with them in my open windows during the day or night while we sleep.

Easy to install and feels very solid. No issues. Happy with the purchase.

The best one. We used them for the basement window where our daughter sleeps very sound. And, for the new patio door and we just used the pressure without drilling a hole in the brand new aluminium which is not a good idea. My husband tried very hard to open the door and the window without even a slight move. Very happy with these bars.
