Leather for Crafts Scraps Upholstery Leather (50 lb)

I am just getting into leather working and wasn't real sure where to go for materials. I knew I wanted to start with scraps and a small amount at that. I went with the two pound option and I was pleasantly surprised. Every piece I received was a decent size, ranging from 12"x12" odd cut pieces, to a piece that was about 18" long and four inches wide. Also included were three pieces of snakeskin. There was a variety of color as well from white, to a more cream, to black, to a dark brown. Overall I was very pleased with the contents of the package and I plan on making more orders in the future. I'm looking forward to crafting something, hopefully soon!

I was impressed. Received a bit more than 5 lbs of scraps, of about 7 different colors and various sizes. I've never worked with leather before, and the quality of the material was easier to manipulate than I had hoped. I used scissors and an xacto blade to trim the leather for my purposes.I created a piece of wall art using the leather scraps adhered with an appropriate leather glue. This was a gift for my 3rd wedding anniversary (the traditional gift being leather). Overall, I was very pleased with the quality and the price.

This remnant purchase came nicely packaged and was delivered quickly. I’m including some photos to show many of the pieces I received. Most of the pieces are tan, brown and black as well as some unusual looking pieces. Very nice quality IMO and I am very pleased- snake skin pieces are on the smaller side but nice and included in pictures. I am new at working with leather and looking forward to making some fashionable earrings, bracelets, small purses and pouches -and I think I definitely have received enough here to do just that and maybe a bit more?! They sent a little over two lbs. can’t wait to get started!Update: I’ve added some pictures of what I’ve made so far- the R&M fabric came from elsewhere but I used the leather from this purchase for the backside!

This was absolutely perfect for my project-- a patchwork purse, and also perfect for small projects. There was more than I anticipated, and the colors were beautiful. I included a photo of what I received, and for scale it is laid on 18" tile.

I guess it depends on what you will use these scraps for. I received a good amount of chrome tanned upholstery leather, but they were all odd cuts of not very useful pieces. They're all vey soft and mostly odd colors and patterns. These would be good for some small crafts, and not really for anything other than adding some accent pieces to your work. I was able to use only one small cut for a wallet interior. Other than that, all of the other pieces are too soft for interiors and too thick for linersThere may be an application for these pieces, but it wasn't what I though it would be. These would be nice for a specific project, but I don't really know what that project is.

Super impressed with the assortment of colors, textures and size of pieces. I was pleasantly surprised by the little envelope of snake skin mixed in with my shipment. I would highly recommend purchasing these leather scraps and will definitely purchase more myself. It's actually fun to open like a gift cause your not sure what your going to find inside. Can't wait to start on some projects.

I purchased this to help finish of some holiday presents that I planned to make using some 7oz leather I found in my house. I didnt know what exactly I wanted to finish these presents so I decided to try this product. Overall there was a great selection of colors and textures and the snakeskin came in an envolope to protect it and looked good. If your doing any kind of projects where specific colors, textures etc are required this is not the product for you. If you need lots of different pieces then this is a great opportunity to expand your leather supply with interesting pieces.Reminder this is a grab bag of scraps and I knew this going in. With that said my first complaint was that there was only 1 brown leather piece and this was kind of a problem since the 7oz leather I already have is brown so the majority of the scraps just didnt mesh with what I have already. The second complaint I have is that the piece of snake leather had a small hole (about 1/2cm in diameter) almost dead center making this nice piece of leather a lot less usable.Overall 4/5 stars

Short version:I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this. I was pleasantly surprised. Good quality, varying thicknesses and colors. Appreciate the variety of sizes too. May use for more than the intention. Will definitely be ordering again.Longer version:The pieces I got range in size from 36"x16" (at it's widest is 16, it tapers to 3") to 6"x6" (not including the snakeskin), 14 in all. There were multiple shades of grey, from light to dark, some creams, a black, a white and a few shades of brown, one of which is highly textured and lovely to look at. They are all soft and pliable and easy to work with. It worked very well where I needed it and wasn't difficult to cut/punch. I bought more than I needed since I didn't know what to expect. I will have extra on hand for any similar projects, but I may be setting aside a few for special crafts. The snakeskin, while fascinating, is too small (3.75"x2") and too thin (think construction paper) to be useful to me at this time. It too will be put aside for a possible special craft, or even to display. I would take pictures but I do not own a smart phone. I highly recommend this product/company.

This is the second order. The first one had some real nice pieces of leather. Lots of colors. This order was quit disappointing most of it was the same. Grey and boring. I'd be reluctant to order again for fear of what I'm getting

Great assortment of leather pieces, both large and small. Colours are mostly natural (browns, tans, whites) with a few more colourful pieces for accents. All pieces are supple and free of any chemical smells. Honestly can't find a single thing to complain about! Abe delivers the goods (and much quicker than expected too)!
