Making Stained Glass Lamps

Helpful and well done
This book is well written in content and organization. The was helpful information it contained built on to previous studio learning. The author writes well and conveys information in an easy to understand format. It is well illustrated. At this point I have only read the book to start processing the information but look forward to going through it again as I select a project to complete in the near future.

Well written, a lot of great tips, and plenty of quality illustrations
From cutting glass to soldering, this book thoroughly covers each step of creating a stained glass lamp. However, not everyone is able to glean all the knowledge and skills through a book that will enable them to succesfully master a particular art. If you are like me, you can use this book in conjunction with some help and advice from your local leadlight supplier to build your skills and enjoy the art of creating beutifl stained glass objects. My only critisim of this book is that the lamp shade the book tutorials are based upon (for which there is a full sized pattern) is quite large and maybe a bit sophisticated for a beginner. Nonetheless, you could easily select a lamp pattern that is smaller and simpler.

excellent step-by-step of lamps and more
While titled for lamps, this book has one of the best introductions to working with stained glass that I have seen - and is a good review for those who have some experience. There are outstanding pictures of all aspects of stained glass - including tools, procedures, cutting and soldering. This book has given me the confidence to make my first lamp in the very near future. Its pictured and written step-by-step directions are clear enough for even a novice worker in stained glass. Included are multiple lamp patterns, ranging from very easy to more difficult.I highly recommend this book !

Gift for Daughter
My daughter is very into the Tiffany items I have already made and now wishes to do this stuff herself; my advice and admonition was to read this and the next items ("Stained Glass Basics", 390 Traditional Stained Glass Instruction" and"390 Traditional Stained Glass Designs") until she had a handle on it and knew which of my tools and supplies she wanted to have - which I would then give her.I've read the aforementioned books and am sure they are first-rate guides.

Panel Lamp Shades
Best book yet. Extremely well explained very friendly. I have purchased other books on lamp making but this one is definitely the best. If you are advanced it will even give you ways to repair. Believe me once you start making lamp shades and suddenly after you've completed a piece breaks, you want to save the shade so knowing how to repair is a plus.

Kindle: making stained glass lamps
I have Kindle app on my iPad. Downloaded this book recently.I am an advanced level stained glass artist who was looking for tips on making a stained glass lampshade. This book is what I was looking for. Well thought out and well illustrated. Probably too much for a beginner but then it might get a beginner motivated to learn more.I would purchase it again.

Intermediate & advanced level traditional designs
Patterns more for intermediate to advanced level stained glass artists and only a limited amount of patterns in book, however there are full-size fold out patterns for them. Mainly patterns for hanging ceiling lights & no wall or fan light designs & designs very traditional/ dated/ boring.
