Mind blowingly quick, class leading endurance, great warranty. What's not to like?
I bought one of these for an somewhat-on-a-budget gaming PC build/upgrade I did recently for family, and I am so impressed that I thought I'd write this short review. As background, for the past few years my preference in terms of SSD drives have generally been Samsung, as they were on balance close to unbeatable (in my view). No longer! This drive popped up during my research and after reviewing the options I ended up deciding to try it based on the apparently excellent performance, class leading durability and extremely competitive price. I wasn't disappointed. This drive is mind-blowingly quick. It should also last, carrying as it does a hefty 800TBW endurance rating. This even beats by about 33%, the much more expensive Samsung 970 Pro which carries an already excellent 600TBW rating. To put this into further perspective, this means the MP510 endurance rating is 8x higher than (for example) the similarly sized Intel SSD 660p 512GB, the latter carrying an endurance rating of only 100TBW. Meanwhile the MP510 also completely demolishes the 660P performance wise. Yet it is only about 11 pounds more expensive (as of this writing, at the price I managed to buy it at.) The MP510 also carries a generous 5 year warranty, which also matches the Samsung 970 Pro.Clearly Corsair means business with this drive. So in short, at the time of writing (27/04/2019), this level of performance and endurance at this price point (I paid 79.96GBP) is simply outstanding and I'd suspect virtually unbeatable. For reference the other major parts in the build was a Ryzen 2600, an ASRock B450M Pro4 micro ATX board and 2x8GB of HyperX 3200Mhz RAM (HX432C16PB3K2).With a Windows 10 install done in UEFI bios mode, and with Ultra-Fast boot enabled (shortly after clean install), booting took literally only 2-3 seconds from BIOS to desktop. It was "blink and you might miss it" quick. Absolutely stunning. (To be clear, as of this writing booting currently takes a few seconds longer as the machine now has some older "spinning rust" drives also installed, as well as a bunch software etc, but it's still very very quick.)Highly recommended.

Fast and reliable Drive
Bought this 240gb Corsair M.2 to serve as a system drive to Windows 10 on PC I put together. I wanted to change OS to a 'built-in' option directly on the motherboard to allow me to upgrade my other drives as needed, however as this drive has plenty room for Windows and any other essential applications it's unlikely I will ever need more. The drive is FAST! I am not getting the advertised speeds but that's probably due to my limited understanding of PC architecture and BIOS setup (I'm an Apple User historically and in training) and I also think my placeholder CPU and Athlon 200GE may also be bottlenecking my system somewhat, rather than a problem with the MP510. It was easy to install, but to make it easier I removed my Graphics Card as I did not have magnetic tools. The motherboard (B450-F Gaming) recognised the M.2 and as I'd seen recommended to do, I physically disconnected all other drives and THEN formatted the Drive and then install Windows onto it. Once Windows was setup I physically connected my other Kingston SSD and two HDD drives. I am getting via AS-SSD Benchmark 1,526mb/sec READ and 1,036mb/sec WRITE. Which compared to what I was using before I had this PC is BLAZING! PC Boots in under 20 seconds, but will probably be faster as I'm just using a placeholder Athlon 200GE processor atm. The build quality of the item itself is adequate, although the PCB board is very thin, (be careful when removing the item from the plastic packet housing it). The packaging however is not overdone and is simple and yet effective enough to protect the item. No problems with it so far and I'm very happy with it.(Update) December 2019 - I have since updated my CPU and I am now getting 2536mb Read and same write speed, no problems with this drive whatsoever, it is a very very fast drive to use as your system disk.

An instant PC
I upgraded my PC at the weekend, buying an ASRock X470 Master SLI motherboard, Ryzen 7 2600X processor & 32GB of RAM from the high street - I could of saved £50-£60 if I had purchased from Amazon, but I did not know what I should be looking for, so played it safe and had it built for me. This all went in my old case. With a normal SSD HDD, it was fast, but the shop I got the upgrades from recommended I look for this type of drive on Amazon to get that extra boost. This is my first experience with M2, so I was a little bit apprehensive, but when it arrived, without any instructions I realised it was just a simple task to fit this drive. The motherboard picked up the drive, but I went into the bios to confirm it would boot from it. Windows installed in a couple of minutes and now the PC is like instant, which is such a contrast from my old PC (9yrs old & was hardly top of the range when it was purchased). The motherboard I have is not the latest, but it does have two M2 slots and I am very pleased I took the advice to buy this drive. It is early days, so I hope it does not slow down and that it proves to be reliable.
