Melissa & Doug unisex-child Standard Packaging

This costume was a huge hit with my 4 year old daughter. We bought it for her to wear to her birthday party (magic show theme) and she has played with it every day since it arrived. It's more than a costume - its awesome for pretend play. The hat has a hidden compartment to hide the rabbit, allowing the child to literally pull a rabbit out of a hat, and she has performed the trick for anyone who happens to stop by our home, including a door to door salesman, lol. There is also a disappearing coin trick , and two tricks to do with the magic wand. Instructions are included for the tricks. Also, the costume is really well made and looks great on her. The hat has a satin finish, and the cape is soft, almost velvet- looking with sequins accents. Definitely worth the price.

This was a gift for my 7 year old niece and she absolutely loved it. She put it on during Christmas day and was pulling the rabbit out of the hat for the family. It was absolutely adorable. For her final trick, she tried something she saw on TV. She took two playing cards, and gave one to me. Then she said the magic words for the cards to switch. Sadly, she didn't know the right magic words so we both retained our original cards.I originally thought about giving her a magic kit, because she likes to perform. At the end of the day, a magic kit is a lot of work and practice which you don't know whether or not a child will want to invest. At the end of the day BEING a magician is more about the outfit than doing tricks to younger kids.

He already has a few Melissa and Doug costumes--the policeman and the construction worker. I have also purchased the cowboy and cowgirl for his sister for Christmas. He loves the bunny, his hat and the wand. His dad was a magician at birthday parties when he was in junior and senior high school, so they have lots of fun with this. I'm trying to teach him to say "abracadabra". He's close, but leaves out a syllable or two. I got such a good price on this, I believe they may have had a slight change of design because currently it's a bit more. There are lots of dress up costumes out there and cheaper, but Melissa and Doug have better construction and fabrics than the cheaper ones. M & D will stand up to hard use. Recommend and I will continue to buy M & D dress up costumes.

Purchased this for my 5yr old son for Halloween this year. I'm a fan of Melissa & Doug toys and arts/crafts but have never tried their dress up line. Well this did not disappoint! The costume includes the bunny, a coin, a magic wand and also instructions on how to perform a few tricks. My son put it on right away and enjoyed performing in it. I'm very pleased on the quality of this set and my son looks great in it. It's worth the money since I know he will use it multiple times.

My 3 year old niece LOVES this costume! For Christmas this year, I was looking for something that she would genuinely enjoy but that wasn't Princess themed. Everything has been Princess or Ballerina for the past year, and I was hoping to interest her in something that was magical and powerful but not pink and fluffy! I bought her this along with the Olivia the pig book, "Olivia The Magnificent," where Olivia the pig is a magician and wears a similar costume. That got her interested in the idea of wanting to be a magician, and the fun cape and sparkly vest sealed the deal. I will say that she is not a huge fan of the magic wand that comes with this set, preferring instead to use her super-sparkly pink princess wand to do magic tricks. Small price to pay! Oh, I should also mention that she's a small kid and the costume is definitely big on her, but she'll fill it out soon I'm sure.

My 6yr old grandson and 5 yr old granddaughter loved it! You can also make pretty much anything “disappear” in the hat. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it just fit my grandson who wears size 6 clothes. It would be nice if they had the same costume for the 8 to 10-year-old age group. Also, I definitely recommend purchasing the Melissa and Doug Deluxe wood magic trick set as well.

My daughter has been playing with this for 1 month since her 5th birthday. She just loves it. It fits her perfectly, shes’s 42 inched. The fabric is very soft and looks really well, shiny and sparkly, which is a plus. Curious to see how long the hat will last with the inside compartment.

I bought this for my 4 year old. He wears a 4/5T and is about 43 inches tall. This magicians costume is absolutely adorable. I thought the hat was going to be floppy piece of junk, but it is so much better than I expected. The hat and bunny trick and the coin trick were simple enough for my 4 year old to perform. We've only had it for a day. So, I can't speak to the longevity of the material, but it's what I would have expected from a costume at this price.
