1001 ways to say the same thing
I was expecting more from this book but it to me seems like a collection of one page notes on how to say the same thing different ways. Unfortunately it does little to nothing to actually TEACH you how to think for yourself and do it right the next time without having to reference the book each time. Perhaps it came across to me as common sense in a lot of cases but I felt it a waste of my time reading it from cover to cover. I'll hang on to it as a reference but I don't even think I'd be able to find what I am looking for in that case.Probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone I know unless they fail at the English language.

Timeless Tips
I've been using and recommending Communicate with Confidence since I began presenting life skill workshops in the late 90s. I took it into my next career as I wrote and spoke about my first book. In a retirement move, it was one of the mysterious missing boxes. Of course, I ordered another. Professional, social, personal relationship tips all told with clarity and humor. A great tool for anyone! Ethel Lee-Miller author, Thinking of Miller Place: A Memoir of Summer Comfort

Unnecessarily Lengthy Corporate Training Material
Me no communi kate any better now~There are some insights, it's obviously helpful to many people, but I read a lot of buzz words, truisms, and repetition in this book. It's far longer than it needs to be for such a superficial analysis. That's a great shame, since part of the art of communication is conciseness...Communication is truly a life or death reality, and so for a better perspective I would recommend Verbal Judo: The Gentle Art of Persuasion. I found it to be a very clear, concise, and insightful perspective on communication.

the best book on communication that I have read
I have been using the first edition as a reference. By far, the best book on communication that I have read. I have purchased the revised edition; but I can't imagine how the first could be improved. I am looking forward to many more years of Diane Booher's insights.

Communication basics
I bought this book many years ago and found it to be one of the best I have read over the years. I loaned it to someone about two years ago and never got it back. I did without it for a long time, but decided it was worth repurchasing. Plenty of good examples in many different scenarios. Excellent book.

Good
It is a good and helpful book to those involved in public speaking. I found interesting the way how it was written, more as a collection of principles than as plain text.
