Don’t get me wrong, the board is amazing but…
First of all, the board is amazing. Detail is nice, the thing has great acceleration, it’s smooth, it has a very good battery charge, and it has selectable modes for speed. I really liked the thing until something happened. I let the board sit for 2 weeks, I charge it, and power it up to ride it, and right when I turn on the remote and tap the throttle the board flies off the driveway, and into a neighboring house’s mailbox. I even tried to use the break but it wouldn’t listen to commands. Same thing happened again when I was riding it and it didn’t obey to the breaks. Something’s wrong with it. I almost got hit by 2 cars and the skateboard slammed into 3 objects over the course of 1 day. I’m going to let it sit for a while. Hopefully then the thing will return back to normal and not spin out of control

Poor battery life can leave you stranded.
I gave this board a chance based on the overwhelming positive feedback. It's the only board with this high of a rating in this price range. But you get what you pay for. I have tried two of these boards. The first one had a faulty charge system. I would charge it for 3 to 4 hours and get maybe a few miles of riding in. The replacement did better, but still barely got 5 miles on a full charge on a good day. Yesterday I couldnt even make it 2.5 miles without the board dying. I understand that range and speed is dependent on a few factors. My commute is 9.8 miles with less than 150 feet in elevation change and I weigh less that 160 lbs. All the number that HiBoy uses to establish range and such are based on the most ideal of ideal conditions. Even with me being right in that ideal range, I am getting poor results from this product.Beyond that, the deck itself is one of the most ridged longboard decks I've ridden in ages. You feel EVERY bump while riding this thing. The trucks are super stiff and makes for really wide turning radius. The, close to, one inch risers on the trucks make it almost impossible to push the deck it the battery dies and make speed wobbles occur at a way lower speed. Very high center of gravity.Lesson learned. Save for a Backfire or Bustin board if you want a commuter that is reliable. This is an entry level board at best.

Updated Review: Committed to customer service and satisfaction
Additional update (3/11/22): Hiboy recently reached back out to me again. This time offering to send me a new board (@ no cost to me). I took them up on that offer and it just arrived. It's snowy here, so I have not yet ridden the board, but the original one was really fun for me and my kids - Good speed. Handled hills well. Great to learn on. I'm looking forward to riding this one too. Happy that Hiboy has made a new commitment to customer satisfaction and standing by their product.Update: Hiboy customer service responded quickly after I posted this review. Instead of providing a new board, they provide a new set of wheels. I think a lot of people would be happy with this. I personally am busy, so I have not yet (6 months later) taken the time to sit down and figure out how to remove the old ones and replace them with the new ones... I'm confident that if I did that, it would solve the problem. So basically, Hiboy did something here. Maybe 2022 is the year I replace it and get to ride the board again.... ugh. When I got this, I initially really liked it. It was higher than my other electric skateboard, which gives a fun ride. However, within less than a handful of rides, one of the wheels started making a grating noise, and the board could no longer go at full speed. All of the riding was done on paved surface, so this was not a case of any misuse of the product.I attempted to reach out to Amazon for a resolution - but was told that because it had passed the return window, Amazon could not help and I had to reach out to the manufacturer for assistance with their return policy. I did this - several weeks later, I have still not heard a thing back from them. I've emailed them again, but still nothing. While this is not an expensive board in comparison to some other electric skateboards, it is a VERY expensive purchase to only work for 4-5 rides before breaking and becoming useless.DO NOT BUY!!!!

Top 5 Coolest thing I’ve ever owned…
I absolutely love this e-longboard. Originally bought an e-scooter l, but was too big for it. It felt very awkward. I’ve skateboarded most of my life, so this should’ve been my first choice…it only took a few days with the scooter before I decided to go with this. I have yet to find anything dissapointimg with this board.

Great board. Remote has connection issues.
EDIT: I have to drop the rating until this issue is resolved. I've had this board for a couple of weeks now. It's still a very fun and cool ride. However, the remote doesn't stay paired for very long. This creates a very dangerous situation when the brakes go out unexpectedly. I came very very close to getting hit by a car today because of this.Just went out for the first run on my new board. Anyone who has ever set foot on any board, be it water, snow or asphalt, will pick this up instantly. Smooth acceleration, fast as hell, stops nicely. Carves turns like butter. Breaking was the only thing that took a little getting used to. By that I mean 5 minutes. Battery got me slightly less than advertised. However, I was full throttle the whole way and decided to test the breaks at every stop sign. I would guess this board will take you more than 12 miles at a more reasonable speed. Didn't get me ask the way home but that was my fault. I got caught up enjoying the ride. I do recommend bringing a small length of paracord to tow the board behind you if the battery dies. I will update this revue if any issues come up once I've put some serious miles on the board.
