You need this.Don't bother with the screw-in type of water connection that they give with water filters, they often leak.Get a washing machine valve, add this on the end and you have a positive isolation on the 1/4" 6mm pipe to your filter.How do I know? 37 years in the plumbing and heating business.Yes you'll have to get a plumber to cut the washing machine valve into the pipe, or you could get a 15mm pipeslice and cut it in yourself if you can find where to turn off the mains water

Brought to connect my works new hot water urn (yeah I get all the great jobs!) to existing John Guest push-fit pipework. Took 2mins to screw on to the urn with a wrap on plumber tape and then pushed the pipe in and a little tug to make sure it was secure. So far no leaks and tbh can't see any happening.

I have fitted and forgotten this connector. Its as small as it can be ( the one supplied with the fridge was quite large). Its of high grade plastic (unlike the one supplied with the fridge) and its a very discrete grey.It doesn't weep at all, despite running at quite a high pressure - 3 bar (unlike the one supplied with the fridge). I'd buy it again, if needed, no problem.
