Is this the expiration date or the production date?** A: The date on the box is the production date, so the kit is valid for 2 years from the date on the packaging. Not sure what chemical is used for this test kit.** A: No, there is very very little chemical (0.04%) and 99.96% is water. Simply wipe it with wet soap or atibacterial towel and wash your hands afterwards. **Q: I want to sell my 2006 fema converted travel trailer. it's below freezing in the inside, will this test still work?** A: We have not tested it at such low temperatures. More inclined towards - no. Since one of the test tubes is 98% water, it would freeze during the testing time. **Q: How sensitive is this product to other volatile organics besides formaldehyde? Could a positive reading been due to the presence of another compound?** A: I believe the test specifically identifies Formaldehyde. I purchased two tests, one I put in my bedroom, which had a reading of 0.03, and one I placed in my living room which had a reading of 0.09. The one in the living room was higher because I just purchased a new couch which uses formaldehyde to preserve the wood so the reading in the living room was higher because of that. I believe both tests were accurate in reading formaldehyde, as I have not had any symptoms of formaldehyde exposure.
