Freedom
This is the guidebook a person needs for life. Why? To answer that ask yourself why you’re here reading the reviews of this book. You are thinking to yourself, “Can this book make a difference, a real difference in my life? The answer is an unqualified, and undeniable yes! Why? Because without one ounce of pretension, DeMello, with the precision of a surgeon wielding a scalpel “cuts away” our mistaken programming that leads us into suffering-no matter the type, length, breadth, or width of it. We are the decision makers in our lives. To some that is comforting, but to most, I suspect it is a completely remote idea that may seem to induce anxiety, dread, and panic because we are conditioned and programmed to believe we are not the owners of our minds. If we aren’t, who is? Do you push yourself around? Engage in useless regrets? Blame others for emotional pains? Keep “score”on an imaginary card in your mind which dictates you must act in certain preconceived ways? Even if those actions never worked in the first place?DeMello points out that not only are you the actor/reactor in your mind, but one who decides your quality of living by what you choose to think-and it is a choice. It seems we suffer from our thinking and then suffer from thinking about our thinking until we are caught in a mental prison that we made for ourselves!Consider this book the key to open the prison door of your mind.

Thought Provoking read
Worth the time to read this and consider the ideas from this presentation. The ideas are at times simple, and at others really complicated when attempting to apply them to our own lives-

Another masterpiece
Anthony De Mello has a way of describing things like no one else. Calls things how he sees it and allows for it to be understood easily. Highly recommend to everyone.

Living life happy joyous and free.
This book is another winner by Anthony DeMello. This man makes spiritual teaching very very simple and inspires one to take the action he suggests. It sure works for me! Live without blaming anyone or anything, need not get upset at what others think or say about me - so called good or bad.Ahhh and the jewel of learning is to remember that anytime, anytime I'am upset there is something wrong with me yes wrong with me. So what needs to be changed is inside me not them or that outside of me.

Short but oh so sweet...
Simply brilliant - easy to read, as it is a transcript of a lecture Tony de Mello gave towards the end of his life, it reads as if you are just listening to him talk. The wisdom is profound. I agree this book is a great companion to his books Awareness & The Way to Love which are my other two fav's of his. This is a short but very sweet book!here are a few little extracts that particularly resonated for me:"It's very hard to define maturity, but I've come up with a fairly workable definition: Maturity is when you no longer blame anyone. You don't blame others, you don't blame yourself. You see what's wrong, and you set about remedying it. That's one pretty good sign of maturity.""Maybe someone did wrong. But look, could you understand them? Because that's what love is all about, see. Love is not blaming others. Love is not judging others. Love is not condemning others. Love is understanding. Can you understand where they came from? Can you understand how there's so little malice there, and so much ignorance? And so much goodwill, and so much helplessness, and so much programming, and so much confusion, and so much fear. Have you ever paused to understand this? Oh, then you'll understand what it means to love."when "you're upset, this isn't coming from the other person, it isn't coming from you; it's coming from your programming. Oh, I see. All of a sudden there's perspective. There's understanding."
