Good piano arrangement book
(English song list included later in this review.)• As another reviewer mentioned, these are piano arrangements for one player, not scores. So the songs do omit some less important but still memorable instrument parts, and superfans will notice.• Besides intentional omissions as arrangement choices, I’ve noticed a few places where a rhythm was transcribed a TINY but funkily, or a bass line was missing a little flavor that I can hear in the game and that would have been just as easy to write in and play. But overall, it's close enough, and for those who really know the music you can adjust easily using these arrangements as a starting point.• The only song that’s missing is the percussion piece “Rhythm of Wind, Sky, and Earth”.• There’re 2 songs that claim to be unreleased, but I think I’ve heard them in-game. Maybe I’ve been playing a director’s cut or something fancy like that.• Book quality is nice. Good cover feel. Music is easy to read. Be ready to break in the spine or use clips to keep the pages open since it’s not spiral bound.• Most songs include a small black & white screenshot from the game. Some are OK, some are not that great imho.• It’s effectively all in Japanese. If you don’t read Japanese, the main thing you’d be missing out on is performance notes (see pics). I penciled in English song titles in my book and it was well worth the few minutes it took to lookup names. I'll save you the trouble though--read on for an English version of the Table of Contents.5... A Premonition6... Chrono Trigger10... Morning Glow11... Guardia Millennial Fair14... Peaceful Days16... Perfect!
I have zero complaints with this product. I am very excited to finally have the sheet music for my favorite childhood video game. The songs have stayed with me over all these years. The first thing I noticed about the book was the cover. It was made from high quality, semi-gloss paper which almost has a water repellant coating. The book is thicker than expected. I believe it contains every song and sound effect in the game. The titles are all in Japanese but you can find the list online. Another reviewer on Amazon posted it, so just print it out and stick it in the booklet or you can pencil each title in.The difficulty level is beginner. This is definitely not an intermediate or advanced book. I have 20 years experience with guitar but have only been playing piano for 6 months. This is perfect. There are even a few short songs that my children can play (ages 9 and 12).Not all of the songs are in original key. This might bother some people. Fortunately the ending song that I wanted (To Far Away Times) is in the same key. Also these arrangements are clearly not the exact thing you hear in the game. It can't be. Most of the songs have multiple instruments or melodic lines. You can't have the piano play them all. I think the arrangement captures the essence of each very well. Anything additional you can add yourself once you master the piece. After purchasing this, I had it spiral bound at an office store because I prefer all my music books to lay flat on the piano stand. I would highly recommend this product. I just wish it was published in the USA and didn't have to shop from Japan.

We play the music out of here almost every day
For perspective -- my wife and I have both been playing piano for a little under a year. The songs in here are harder than what I'm working on in my lessons, but not so hard that I can't work up to them. The arrangements themselves are really pleasant, and capture the spirit of the original really well. The difficulty level is great (for us; a really experienced player would probably find them too easy). So the result is we play out of this book all the time -- it's always open on the music stand, and usually one of us will go play something out of it after breakfast or etc.We really enjoy this book.Compared to other soundtrack books from the same people (e.g. FF7) there are fewer "throwaway" (atmospheric / unmemorable) tracks, and the difficulty level is a little lower, so you can open to a random page and be like "oh, I remember that part!" It's great.

Great arrangements for every level!
I'm a beginner pianist and even though some of the tunes are somewhat hard, others are quite simple and sound beautiful!

Gives A Great Foundation, But Not Entirely Accurate
This is my favorite video game of all time, and the music is extraordinary. When I saw this, I had to have it. Most pieces are in the right key (some have changed, but list the original key...some miss the "original key" box entirely, but use your ear). Most of the main riffs are in workable condition on piano. These are piano arrangements of the full score, so some key parts are obviously left missing. This is a great start to working out your own arrangement of these pieces (some of them entirely workable as is), I highly recommend it! Also, it may help to know the game forwards and backwards, as all of the text is in Japanese and your only guide (for all you non-Japanese speakers) is the picture at the top of the first page :-P

Perfect for piano playing video gamers
Bought this for my boyfriend and he says it's his favorite! Not impossibly hard, but sounds impressive to play. Highly recommend if you like playing video game music.
