Easy to install
It's popular item and the price is the same with all sellers. It's not high quality. My first one stopped at 2 hours. Second one seems to work at 5 hours now. Read some reviews and others had the same issue. It's not the seller, it's the product.

Fits Bad Boy MZ Rambler 42” from factory
Bought a Bad Boy MZ Rambler 42” and was shocked to find it did not come with an hour meter from the factory. However, the control panel had two covers on it for installing an hour meter, usb port or light switch if you wanted to install lights. Everyone online purchased the digital hour meter but the complaint was they have an internal watch battery and are known to go bad at around one to one and half years. On these mowers the factory has a pre-wired hot and ground wire in the harness underneath the cover. Just pull the cover off and they’re there ready to plug in. I called Bad Boy directly and they informed me it was for connecting whatever accessories I wanted.. they also confirmed the digital hour meters are known to go bad and that’s why they don’t put them on. Bought the digits meter and this one hoping the analog meter would fit.. not only did it fit but it was plug and play.. literally took me less than 1 minute to install.. mowed the yard today and as you can see it works like a champ! Don’t have to worry about an internal watch battery going bad.. this thing runs off of the power of the mower when the ignition switch is in the “on” position.. so just to let you know if you put the key in and turn it to power on but don’t start the engine it will power this meter and it will be running time.. I’ll never have the key in the on position without the engine running so I’m not worried about that.. anyways thought y’all would wanna know since I spend days searching for video or instructions on what works as an hour meter for these mowers.. drop in and play! Easy as that!

It was easy to install, and is working as desired.
I liked the small size of the unit, and that it comes with a slide on the back, that makes it stay in place after installation. I printed out the suggested wiring and then found a place to make a cutout for it on my riding mower. I found the wires I needed to use, and the installation went well. It now operates only when the engine is operating, and is keeping the hours used, even to the tenths. It will help keeping track for when to change oil on the mower. Nice for the price.

Nice hour meter, loud ticking sound. Don't install inside of car\truck
My odometer went out on my old truck, installed this hour meter in the cab to keep track of maintenance. Lol, the clock ticking sound is loud enough that I couldn't leave it in the cab with me, way too distracting. I ran some wire out to the engine bay and mounted it in there instead and all is well.

Works well
Installed on a Murray lawn tractor that had a carburetor equipped with an anti-backfire solenoid valve. Since this valve is only given 12 volts when the ignition is in the start or run position, it's a perfect location for this timer.

Fits Generac GP6500
The silly digital hour meter on my Generac GP6500 generator gave up the ghost with only 4 hours on the clock. Not wanting another digital, I opted for this mechanical one. The install was direct fit. It went right in the hole the old one came out with no modifications. This one is much deeper than the old one however. At first, the power terminals hit the back on the enclosure. Bending the connectors 90 degrees solved the problem, and it went right in. No cutting wires, rewiring things, nothing at all. Ran it for 1/2 to confirm operation, all good. Time will see how it holds up to vibration of the engine.

It works
The hour meter for the gen in my RV finally quit. in my case I had to file a bit of metal away on the mounting hole for the meter on control panel. it appeared that the meter molding was slightly over size is all that was keeping it from fitting right away. the 2 wires had the right connections, and the terminals were marked so hook up was easy, not much more to say. no idea how long it will last since I don't use the gen much yet,

Does not last
I have a catamaran with two engines. The original hour meters failed so I decided to add these to keep track of engine hours. I mounted them inside at the nav station. At around 200 hours, one of the meters quite working. I bought a replacement, used a spare battery to get the new meter to show the correct hours, now the other meter has stopped working at 300 hours. Back to the battery and 15 days waiting to get the hours correct . I would replace them both but I already cut holes to mount these. I wish I had started with a better, more reliable product. If another one fails, I will have no choice but to make a change.
