Q: is this high beam or low beam???

The H5006 has a 3-prong connector for high and low beam. Because the H5006 has dual filaments, it costs 25% more. It can be used in 2-light, 4-light, and single light applications. The H5001 has a 2-prong connector for low beam only. The H5001 would only be applicable as an "inner bulb" in a 4-light system.

Q: Are these higher wattage than the oem corvette 1978 ones?

Wagner halogen headlight 5006 is a very good headlight. I use it on a Harley and it can take hard vibrations. The 3 terminal connector never melted and on a bike headlights stay on. I believe it is worth trying.

Best value for money.

Going in 1968 corvette. Did not want to have funky LED lights. Best thing you can do is install a relay system to lights so they are brighter.
