Get it right the first time! *by R***T on Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2020* My budgie used to be a chronic egg layer. Once she layed over 15 eggs at a time poor thing. She can spot a fake egg a mile away. If the color is a little off, if it is a little larger, she knows and keeps on laying. These are foolproof. They are solid and opaque like her real eggs. In the long run you will pay less for these dummy eggs-in shipping, waiting, and exchanging eggs that don't fool your bird. Get it right the first time and don't worry!PS another tip-We had onne kind of calcium which she never ate. After reading several posts I bought her 2 other kinds so had a total of 3 types in her cage-calcium block, cuttlebone and I believe eggshell. She immediately went to the cuttlebone. Now she is eating calcium. I believe before she started eating calcium the eggs she laid were transulcent because of lack of calcium. She may have kept laying because her instinct told her they may not hatch. I don't know. Now the eggs she is laying are more opaque and she only lays about 5 and stops. . The eggs she lays are opaque and along with the dummy eggs-I put about 9- she is acting normally. I usually let her sit on the eggs until she is tired of them and that stops her from laying for another few months (there is no male in her enclosure, so no chance of them hatching). However, she is getting older and her eggs are not well formed, and have become thin, so she can't sit on them for more than a few days without them breaking.I found these replacement eggs and they work beautifully! They are an exact size replica of her real eggs. She does not know the difference. I put six eggs (her normal clutch size) in the enclosure after her first egg.
