What is Islam
This is an excellent book - I relished reading every word of it. From the true concept of Allah as a model for mankind, the Quranic concept of life to the Quranic concept of sustenance, this book has widened my understanding of Islam as a Deen (a system of life) and I would strongly recommend it to anyone earnestly wanting to understand Islam as it was revealed in the Quran 1400 years ago.

This is an outstanding book on the subject in today's world where people across the world are now grossly unhappy with the capitalist system. The book discusses various aspects of Islam as given in the Quran and the author refers to it as Deen thus differentiating it from the sectarian religion Islam. The book discusses the existence of the human self as a separate entity which needs to be developed within the permanent values of the Quran. A list of permanent values is provided in Chapter 15. The Law of Requital is discussed in some detail i.e. what we sow so shall we reap. The author has gone in a considerable detail to put light on the significance of human creation and its purpose in this life. In connection with this there is a chapter on Immortality which discusses the importance of the next life based on the state of development of the human self. Deen as a system removes all the injustices and exploitation inherently inbuilt into the capitalist system as it caters for both the physical needs and the needs of the human self-development. The book is extremely thought provoking and all possible questions related to human creation, accountability, equality as a human being, poverty and its solution, universality of humanity, and many many more are covered by the author. This life is intrinsically linked with the human self-development. The book is extremely thought provoking and all possible questions related to human creation, accountability, equality as a human being, poverty and its solution, universality of humanity, and many many more are covered by the author. This life is intrinsically linked with the next life where ever new heights of development are awaiting man - only if he decides to live his life within the domain of the permanent values. The concept of Allah (not God) is explained and its need to serve as a model for the development of the human self is explained – one can’t find it anywhere else in the world. No religion can provide this concept. Last chapter is Woman and it is simply brilliant and must read for woman who wish to find their status as an equal human being. The book needs to be read slowly and attentively as it needs a lot of concentration and imagination. Anyone looking for an alternative view of life where it goes beyond the human physical death, this is a must book to read.
