Disney INFINITY: Toy Box Starter Pack (2.0 Edition) - Wii U

My daughter was a huge fan of Skylanders, which was the original video game that required you to buy endless figures and paraphernalia for use in the game. She is also a huge fan of Disney, so I thought Disney Infinity would be a huge hit at our house. It wasn’t. She just never really got into it - and I kept encouraging her by buying the figures of her favorite characters. She did play Disney Infinity some, but it just never took hold the way Skylanders did.THE KID SAYS: The included toy box modes had good stories but beyond that there was so little direction that some people could get overwhelmed. The stories were easy to finish up and after that it was hard for me to come up with ideas for the sandboxes.

I wasn't exactly sure what this was (compared to the starter set with Jack Sparrow, Mr. Incredible and Sully) until it arrived and we got to play with it a bit. It is the game disc and base that plugs into your game system (we have a Wii U), plus the Merida and Stitch figures and discs that sit on the base. The figures are playable in the Toy Box, which is apparently just a big free-for-all simulated world where you can create lands, structures, games and adventures any way you choose and throw any and all Disney/Marvel characters together. There are several tutorials when you first start that show you how to do just about everything, but there is a lot of room for creativity The discs are pre-created games for the figures to play in, which they can only do in their particular discs, i.e. Merida can only play in her disc and Stitch can only play in his. The only difference I can see between this set and the Jack Sparrow/Mr. Incredible/Sully one is the figures. Otherwise, I think they're pretty much the same, so the price swayed me, since my daughter loves Merida and Stitch but isn't really into those other characters yet.So far, my husband, myself and our 5 YO daughter have enjoyed figuring this game out and building new worlds. My daughter especially likes decorating the "house" in her toy box, which is like your personal clubhouse to renovate any way you want, filling it with furniture and gadgets and secret doors, etc... If you have a kid who knows their way around a smartphone, a tablet or video game controller, they shouldn't have any trouble figuring out this game. We are excited to buy more figures and discs and play more!My only gripe is that the game was a bit glitchy at first. In the tutorials, you are given mini-missions that help you learn certain aspects of the games, and these missions are in 'worlds' that your hosts create right in front of you. Mulan teaches you how to jump and climb and scale walls in Agrabah from Aladdin; but when ours opened up, there was a large gap between the host's landing and the city, making it impossible to actually go into the city and complete the mission. Merida and Stitch just kept falling off into the abyss. Really annoying. Happened during the 'save the princess' mission the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella gives you to teach you how to fight off opponents. Parts of the course appeared suspended in mid-air, with no way to reach them. I reset the whole game and it fixed itself but I'm always waiting for something else to happen.That said, the price was right (we are 2 years behind the release though) and it arrived quickly and in perfect, new condition. Haven't had any issues besides the initional glitches but like I said, those seem to have been resolved for now.

It works perfectly just the game leaves a lot more to be desired. It was such a cool idea! It’s not for people who don’t like creating new worlds. If you like structure, it’s not the game for you

Great value! I always wanted to tr the infinity game series but didn't want to pay the original price. Now that disney is clearing out of the game/toy realm the series is dirt cheap. But not the game and characters. The figures are great quality and the game is fun! If you are interested, start snagging up the starter packs while they last.

If you know what Infinity is, then there isn't much to tell you. This is the start pack for those that don't know. It will get you into the world of Infinty. But if you want to know more you better hurry. Since the series has been discontinued they will be increasingly hard to come by.

This just isn't my kind of game. I think for people with a little more creative experience, this would be great. For me, the games that already existed in here were just a little lame, and the tasks it gives you to build the world weren't super exciting to me.

Came as advertised. Nothing special. Daughter loves the game. Cheaper here than gamestop.

This game allows one to collect the cool figurines and actually use them. There are so many ways to play, it really is infinite. With other accessories (sold separately,) you can play the same levels with different characters in their own respective theme.

Las figuras son de buena calidad, aunque el juego solo tiene la toybox.por lo que tu tienes que hacer tu propio contenido, usar el de la comunidad, o conseguir el paquete de expancion.

Ha llegado antes de la fecha. Relacion calidad precio excelente.
