C5 C6 Corvette Hatch Deck Lid Pop Assist

What appears to be you getting a different attachment is just receiving a spring that you are to wedge behind a screw on the current attachment. Now it does work (!), but it takes a bit of effort to keep that spring wedged behind the screw long enough to properly tighten it down. Best if you have 2 sets of hands to do it.So problem is resolved, but be aware of what you are actually getting when you look at the picture on this item.

Cheap spring, cheap cover that falls off.Serves a purpose, but I'm think of trimming a piece of foam, to serve the same purpose.

My trunk lid pops up like it never has. That part is great. During installation, I had to add a wide washer under the screw head, as the head was not broad enough to keep the spring from slipping out from under it while tightening the screw.

Well, not really. But it does work well. No more difficulty getting your fingers under the lid - it pops right up.
